Really, what about our Football ranking, or Hockey, or Track in field???

Cricket is popular because of being an entertainment, not sport in India.

.
It is somewhat true that we are financially leader in the game of Cricket and we are ruling the game.

For years and years White people ruled it with lots of discrimination to non whites. At least BCCI is not doing that.

Just wait and watch we will dominate more and more but in a good manner.

Hmm christian hater...Let me guess..Cricket is a game started by the British(Christian country)..90% of indians adore cricket as a religion which was started by a christian country and shooed away national sports like hockey and kabbadi..We still love the game cricket created by a christian country which ruled over us for 200 years..whereas the national sport hockey started by indian(hindu country) is gone to the dogs..now lets think who is a christian hater you or them.. cause you love the game started by christians..Idiot...BTW i am an indian and was a maharashtra state hockey player and proud to be a indian playing a indian sport with pride..loser

Mallya New idea
by rajendra K on Jun 02, 2011 09:41 PM

There was talk in Mallya ’s Board room asking BCCI to allow women players in IPL. They were trying to convince BCCI to make at least 4 women in the Team. What was said with putting some additional conditions on the bowlers like cannot throw more than 50 Km/hr they bring Dipika Padukone, shilpa Sheety etc. into filed. They also thought of inducting some Cheer leaders into team. That will bring big revenue which is good for Cricket. Way to go.

Satans Speaking Veda!!
by trivandrum padmanabhan on Jun 02, 2011 09:33 PM

For years the world cricket was dominated by the Anglo-Australian syndicate. The had the tacit support of South African,Zimbabwe & New Zealand. Other countries like WI Block, India & Pakistan were treated with contempt & were non entities. When the whole world banned SA from all activities due to apartheid, These sydicate members had cricket relations with SA.Now the when the tables are turned they are squealing.Where was the so called surveys then? When it did suite them they ruled & now complaining. The existing block should ignore these guys. These satans are quoting scriptures now!!

BCCI DOMINATES ICC
by Ravishankar Madhugiri on Jun 02, 2011 09:15 PM  | Hide replies

Yes BCCI dominates ICC bcos of MONEY POWER, the other member countries should see that it shouldnt happen. Cricket today is business. 70's &80's saw the best cricket with First ODI world cup played sportively, today with "Sponsors" dominating the game it has lost its simplicity and honesty.

BCCI dominates world cricket
by Xavier Dsouza on Jun 02, 2011 08:58 PM  | Hide replies

Fully agree that BCCI dominates world cricket (including ICC). This will last as long as there is money with BCCI and with the Indian Companies who pay exhorbitant sums to create idols of some ordinary cricketers, i.e. make them money rich at a very young age. These cricketers then get money into their heads just like gambling and when the money flow stops they get demoralized and end up their careers at a young age. This clout which the BCCI enjoys cannot last forever and just as a few international cricketers have started opening their mouths, more will follow and BCCI will be brought down to earth.

Isn't it ironic that while foreigners come to India to make money, many Indians in India sometimes do not have two square meals a day. The World Bank will soon stop granting loans to India as money is being wasted here.

If the BCCI and the Indian companies have so much money they should use it to develope the following:
1. Indian Pitches should be converted into the best pitches in the world which encourage both pace bowlers and spinners in the country and at the same time are sporting enough to allo
2. If Pakistan can keep churning out genuine pace bowler after another there is no reason why India cannot, i.e. provided BCCI and the money rich companies try to do something about it.
3. Atleast 10% of the earnings on cricket matches should be spent on charity organisations supporting the cause of the poor and the downtrodden.

Money talks and cricket is no exception...
by Junior Shelly on Jun 02, 2011 08:27 PM

No sport can survive without adequate financial support. In India, cricket matches are huge attractions as in other top countries where the game is being played professionally. But there is one thing unique to India. Here not only cricket, but cricket players too sell. A player is 'proclaimed' great by the media even after just a couple of good performances, and in no time he is buried under umpteen number of endorsements. Even foreign players who are popular among the Indian fans are made ad-stars. Naturally, 'sponsors' queue-up to embrace any crap dished out in the name of cricket, and 'fans' fill up the galleries even if they have to sit under open sky and blazing sun without water or food.. The result - money, money, money and more money...
More money means more power. And while we take into consideration the fact that the ICC does not have even a single international / former international player in its top brass, what else can we expect.

Every nation can have max of 20 players if you talk of IPL it helps 10 such teams the international exposure

New finding like paul valaty would have spent his carrier as extra.

Talk obout Indian cricket Indian team who used be zero at foriegn pitches is winning miraculously

Talk about audience there needs to be a craze and icons
if they are Sportsmen nothing like it
else
youth will end up in drugs cacino's bars etc
