i meant both teams should their own cameras. Excellent cameras are produced by japan, korea, etc.
And only umpires should be able to ask for a review. Which is exactly what happens in the case of runouts.
I can even remember an incident when fielding side suggested an umpire to go for a replay, the umpire was offended.
On field umpires definitely know if something is touch and go. And based on what they feel, they can precisely take help of technology to see if bowler overstepped, or the ball pitched/hit out side the line etc. and then make a final decision.
Why should the jurisdiction of umpire be breached by players?

all they need is 6 high speed and high resolution cameras, both teams should have them because replays can be fudged, we all know. NO NEED FOR DRS.

they cannot sell DRS to india under strain like how they sell weapons to india and then Pak (from that profits), china via various blocks (of friends and enemies ) who have underhand deals. keep us lagging and dependent on that "cycle of weapon advancement" on our money. Same for any different technology-tactical business be it software or energy or ....
Kickbacks to brokers and politicians add another dimension to technology deals.
they will try this in DRS as well. SO INDIA DONT BE SURPRISED when there is a sell out or pressure from nations who have been sold out. Or convinced that this DRS is made to favor them against xyz. Did we hear how Micheal holding was paid for a Lecture to speak up against india.
