Zaheer Khan absence could be blessing for Sreeshant
by Chiru P on Jul 28, 2011 08:56 PM  | Hide replies

Zaheer Khans absence could be a big blessing for Sreeshant. Can he shine and seal the fate of Zaheer Khan forever?

Also Bajji should be rested and Mishra should be in for the 2nd test.

baji should be definitely dropped. he is not taking wickets at all. he is no more aggressive. he is also conceeding a lot of runs nowadays. he should be dropped from the team and be asked to play local matches to prove him capable.

Gautam Gambhir is money greedy pig..IPL he played
by Manish Kulkarni on Jul 28, 2011 08:47 PM

like there is no tomorrow, failed bad in test and now looking for excuses to sit out. IPL should be banned, period. Or keep capping on highest money like 250K US dollars..Half of these clowns will drop from IPL and will focus back on cricket..Indian cricket is all about greed and media hype now. I am looking forward to 4-09 whitewash and then dump Dhoni and Bhajji..sadly they will continue to play until they get disabled by Indian cricket standards

by Manish Kulkarni on Jul 28, 2011 08:44 PM

the guy has been riding on others work. I don't understand why he does not get injured ?. I wish him good luck for getting injured, same with HurrayBhajan..what a moron, I don't know why they keep picking him up..shocked, he gets wickets against junk teams and get exposed against likes of England..sadly this time he failed in WI too..even that Bishoo guy bowled much better than this clown

yes, I suppose after Vijay's 'extraordinary' performance in the West Indies he will thrash England next. We Indians just cannot rise beyond our chauvinistic aspirations.

Only Munaf can replace Zaheer, even if he is not able to exceed 125k.

Why was Zaheer even included in the team???
by Junior Shelly on Jul 28, 2011 08:18 PM  | Hide replies

No match practice, no lengthy spells under his belt and even in the only tour match before the first test, Zaheer didn't bowl at all in the second innings... Then how on earth would the team management know that he is fit for the rigors of test cricket??
How I wish Greg Chappell were the coach of the Indian team at present...!!

Gary Kirsten despite his age was very fit; in fact he was fitter than some of the players. He induced a fitness culture in the team, which served us quite well. This guy Fletcher, is fat and old. I don't know what he teaches to players.

gary never intrduced anything in the team....a good for nothing coach....went on to get the "good will" of the players...had no vision and team building ability.....jst conducted net sessions....it was greig chappel who introduced very good training methods and fitness routines to team india.....never became a "chela" of players....a true professional coach who took the task of team bulding and accountability of every player.....put the process in place , result will follow..that's his manthra....team india benifitted frm this...

@ A Singh: Just think before you talk. Zaheer was carrying and injury even as back as the World Cup. He played in the IPL despite the injury. Fletcher has just joined the team...!!

drop harbajan as well
by Mahesh Margam on Jul 28, 2011 08:14 PM  | Hide replies

That sardar is not at all performing. 8 wickets in the last 4 tests. That's just a wicket per innings. A part time bowler can do better than him. Why is he there in the team? Mishra or Ashwin or atleast chawla should be playing in the next 3 matches.

Ban the sardar until he proves to be good in ranji. He is just a overhyped person fit for nothing. Gone are the days when he was good. He must be dropped from the team now.

if you plan to criticize someone at least post correct stats, he has taken 12 wickets in last 4 tests (not 8 as you say)

besides, if you saw the match he did not bowl as badly as his stats say at lord's .

Also in lord's test bhajji's very first ball in the match resulted in Dravid dropping Trott at slips when he was on 8 (Trott later made 70) . Also since BCCI doesn't want DRS for lbw, harbhajan missed out on two plumb lbws in the match including that of Broad when he was just on 37 (he went on to score 74 not out)

it is common knowledge not having drs for lbw affects spinners the most.

Can he also bowl off-spin?

Nope, Harbhajan should not be dropped. Since Zahir their most experienced bowler is not in, they need a experienced bowler. Usually he does well after a lot of criticism, watch him do well in this test match.

Also they won the series in WI, period. His run rate was not bad. WI and England have fast ball pitches and you have to take that in consideration.

If he does not do well in the coming test, then I would say we should drop him.

Open with Mukund&Dravid,Bring yuvraj in and left H.Singh out because Praveen kumar is bowling like spinner only he can turn the both ways, bowl 36 to 40 overs, and bring munaf to control the runs and take wickets and treat yuvi & raina to bowl, i think these guys better than H.Singh.

SO SAD THAT
by Rahim Baba on Jul 28, 2011 08:06 PM  | Hide replies

I feel that Indain Muslims mainly, target Dhoni and Sachin in Particular since before WCup...and condemn them at any opportunity.

This is unfair and indicates a shameless cheap jealousy.

We never condemn Yusuf for being a total failure after one good match in S.A. ...and Sarukh khan game him 10 crore rupees for IPL where too he failed....but no hindu or christians condemned him at all....Zaheer gave 16 runs before Nehra gave 15 in an over to lose out against SA in WCup but we all condemned nehra with vulgar words.

PLEASE BROTHERS, DONT BE JEALOUS INDIANS. WE ARE PROUD TO BE INDIAS. RIGHT ?

ENGLAND IS A STRONG TEAM. IT WIPED OUR PAKISTAN BELOW 75 RUNS 3 TIMES.

In international match, winning a match is not going to a stall and buying a Pani puri. It is competitive cricket. Assies were super boss and maybe the new boss is England.

We all know this then we stoop so law to condemn our own teams.

Think brothers.
