3. Dravid's debatable catch of KP

You have overlooked one main point .England were reduced to 64for5 in the II ininnings. We could have had them on the mat and probably created a winning position for ourselves. We need more self belief in our players.kudos to England for putting up such a great team performance. We indians are so well educated abt the game but forget one thing that cricket is a team sport.we need to b consistent in all depts. of the game.

MS dhoni's lucky man is Murli Vijay. When he play test match India win or draw with commancing position. When Gambhir play India los of struggle to save the match. Please include the murli vijay in the test team. Whatever his form it does not matter. But India wins

A Fair Result
by A Singh on Jul 26, 2011 01:24 PM

Looking at the level of preparedness of Team Dhoni, a big loss is only a fair result. Of course the team was unlucky in losing Zaheer Khan on day 1, but I don't think he could have made that much impact on the ultimate outcome. Tendulkar catching viral fever and Gambhir getting injured were also big tragedies which struck the team, but an overall lack of preparedness was very evident. Zaheer Khan was lost, because he was unprepared, and did not even know how fit he was.
Dhoni starting the attack with Suresh Raina after lunch on day 4, was a gamble that misfired. If a fast bowler 22 years of age, having taken a 40 minutes break, is unable to bowl a couple of overs, we should start looking for a replacement.
The biggest disappointment however, was the fielding. If we look at the number of twos the Poms ran, and realise that more than half of them should have been restricted to singles, we shall know how pathetic our fielding was. Despite all the bad luck, and a very poor captaincy decision, if only we had taken all the chances that came our way, it would have been a good fight.
I hope our highly talented team will be able to pull up its socks and come back strongly in the next Test.

Harbhajan spoilt
by hari krishna on Jul 26, 2011 01:11 PM  | Hide replies

The bad shot played by harbhajan is the main reason y we lost.
That was the critcal wicket bcos the only tailender who can play is harbhajan.
After that we all wickets fell one by one.

England played better cricket
by pradeep agarwal on Jul 26, 2011 01:10 PM

They would have won this test regardless of all the excuses put up by Dhoni may be with lesser margin. He should learn to be more gracious in acknowledging under performance which any team can experience in international circuit. He is a poor looser.

Turning point of the match was
by Aditya on Jul 26, 2011 01:10 PM  | Hide replies

VVS Laxman's dismissal on the last day. Once Laxman got out, there was no way India could save the test. The only batsman who has the guts, talent and determination to save India in the 4th Innings is VVS Laxman!

Why target him after every defeat. He is likely to fail like any other player & it is not his fault that our cricket crazy country treats him like a God which he is not.

Change the team...
by gururajan on Jul 26, 2011 01:03 PM

What about this...
1. Sachin (batsman 1)
2. Dravid (batsman 2)
3. Yuvi (batsman 3 cum spinner)
4. Raina (batsman 4 cum spinner)
5. V V S (batsman 5)
6. Dhoni (batsman 6) -> he is not having much records in test cricket but consider as batsman.
7. Sreesant(bowler 1)
8. Ishant (bowler 2)
9. Praveen (bowler 3)
10. Munaf (bowler 4). he bowls good length and most of his attaching stump. lbw chances are high
