Dhoni must be questioned and charged
by Sameer Bhagwat on Jul 26, 2011 01:46 AM  | Hide replies

Pietersen struggling in first innings, he could not touch a ball with the bat but no forward short leg and the he scores 200,.
Second innings England 50 for 5 and Ishant is not given ball after lunch.
Come on, this is pathetic. Dhoni is arrogant and he has cost India an insulting defeat, it is a matter of time the selection committe will have to find a new captain. Shame on Dhoni and Duncan fletcher.
Has Dhoni fixed the match?

Spot-fixing refers to illegal activity in a sport where a specific part of a game is fixed. Examples include something as minor as timing a no ball or wide delivery in cricket or timing the first throw-in or corner in association football. Spot-fixing attempts to illegally defraud bookmakers by a player agreeing to perform to order by pre-arrangement.[1] As such spot-fixing differs from match fixing, where a whole match is fixed, or point shaving, a specific type of match fixing in which corrupt players (or officials) attempt to limit the margin of victory of the favoured team. Spot-fixing is more difficult to detect than match fixing or point shaving. Spot-fixing is most associated with the betting markets of the Indian subcontinent where bets can be placed on individual deliveries in a cricket match.[2] The advent of Twenty20 cricket is said to have made spot-fixing more difficult to detect[3] as has the growth of Internet gambling and spread betting.CricketIn the 2010 Pakistan tour of England it was alleged Pakistani players Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir bowled no balls at specific points as part of a conspiracy involving captain Salman Butt to defraud bookmakers. As a result, Salman Butt has been banned for 10 years, Asif for 7 and Amir for 5 years.[6] The matter is now a criminal investigation.

If india can put a team with 11 fit players they will win
by R A on Jul 26, 2011 01:33 AM

People who are sick, injured or have old age injuries should let the fit players take their spot and the team will again win.

India lost on day 2-3 not on day 5
by srini on Jul 26, 2011 01:23 AM  | Hide replies

India has not lost the match on day 5, but on day 2-3 after the first innings.
1st innings Bowling: The sudden loss of inform ace bowler zaheer is the biggest loss which allowed English batsmen to settle well. Out of control.
1st innings Batting : Poor performances of Gambhir, Raina ,Laxman, Dhoni & Bhajji. Additional 100 odd runs from these 5 could have decided the result of the match. Which is not a big ask, but the impact will be huge (100 runs = 4*25 overs)
2nd innings batting is just a make-up of first inning’s mistakes, the so called fighting innings by Raina is just an eye washer just will ensure his berth in next match, just imagine if he has scored half of what he scored in second innings(40 runs = 4*10 overs) , India would have survived the defeat.

[edit] 1999-2000 India-South Africa match fixing scandalIn 2000, the Delhi police intercepted a conversation between a blacklisted bookie and the South African cricket captain Hansie Cronje in which they learnt that Cronje accepted money to throw matches.[1][2] The South African government refused to allow any of its players to face the Indian investigation unit. A court of inquiry was set up and Cronje admitted to throwing matches. He was immediately banned from all cricket. He also named Saleem Malik (Pakistan), Mohammed Azharuddin and Ajay Jadeja (India).[3] Jadeja was banned for 4 years. They too were banned from all cricket. As a kingpin, Cronje exposed the dark side of betting, however with his untimely death in 2002 most of his sources also have escaped law enforcement agencies. Two South African cricketers, Herschelle Gibbs and Nicky Boje, were also listed as wanted by the Delhi police for their role in the match fixing saga.

TENDU WD HAVE BEEN OUT 2 MORE TIMES IF STRAUSS HAD NOT DROPPED THE SITTER AND FURTHER BENEFITED FROM THE UMPIRE ERROR.QUITE UN TENDULKAR LIKE BATTING.BUT THE PROBLEM WITH INDIANS IS THAT WE MAKE HEROS OF MEN FOR THEIR PERFORMANCE ESPECIALLY IN CRICKET AND IN NO TIME DENIGRATE THEM FOR THEIR FAILURE.NOW THERE IS A DEMAND FOR BHARAT RATNA. ALL THAT WAS EXPECTED OF TENDULKAR WAS TO SCORE RUNS WHICH HE DID IN A PRAISEWORTHY MANNER ALL THESE YEARS. THERE ARE AWARDS LIKE KHEL RATNA,ARJUNA AWARD ETC ONLY FOR THIS PURPOSE.IF A CRICKETER IS COSIDERED FOR BESTOWING THE NATION'S HIGHEST HONOUR THEN WHY NOT FOR DHYAN CHAND ,VISWANATHAN ANAND ETC.AND BY THE SAME YARDSTICK TO DILIP KUMAR,ASHA BHONSLE ,AMITABH BACHCHAN ,RAJINIKANTETC.GOVT WILL BE OPENING A PANDORA'S BOX IF ANY SUCH FOOLISH DECISION IS TAKEN.

What a jealousy ! I wonder what the fellow has personally done to provoke such a hatred . Nothing. Just bcz. He is an idol loved by a billion people and that is The Point of Jihadi Jealousy. ....well you can't choose a neighbor . anyway the Aussies voted him a tad above Don, but our own bandyalals know better tehzeibs and a better Mathod of statistics. wish they cud apply the same for their own players. and boy can I imagine their CSS burning at that terrific Six that Dhoni sent soaring for the WC? anyway better luck India, dis regard the Fifth Liners. I only hope Diggy, signals, Sonia, Rajdeep the billionaie barkha...are reading today comments when India has lost. non of ever made such comments when the Pakis lost.

Half fit players cause problems
by Bowrie RK on Jul 25, 2011 09:04 PM  | Hide replies

Even if India survive the final session, which perhaps will be a miracle, the reason for India's poor show is famed batting line-up not living up to the reputation, plus bowling pivot Zaheer unable to do justice to his coming back into the team after trying to recover from injuries. It's time that our worthy selectors select fit players and should not go by the reputation and honesty of our senior players.

proudly saying No 1 is not enough. Like the australians or the old west indies, you should tour across the world and be victorious in almost all matches and then you can proudly announce that. A win here and there and some draws and meekly surrendering in others when real fast and swing bowlers come in, shivering at the thought of bouncers, bowlers barring one odd finding it difficult to dislodge even an opposite team bowler who makes mincemeat of the attack. This is not the sign of a world class team. English may not be that great a team outside but our team does not deserve to be No 1 especially after gary Kirsten had gone , again going into their shell. They can;t depend only on Sehwag or zaheer if they are a world class team.
