Need to prepare for final exams
by Paresh Dholakia on Jul 26, 2011 10:55 AM  | Hide replies

As we know small tests are just giving practice for final exams. And after having practice in tests we are coming for final exams and performing our best.Test match was our final exam. Most of seniors have prepared themselves in IPL ( small tests)..took enough rest before England tour ( by not attending west indies tour). And at the time of performance they are failed. the case of Zaheer, Sachin , Veeru and Gambhir..So what more we expect from them ?? I suggest Sachin to get retired with proud and allow Kohali , Badrinath and other young stars to show their performance for country..Because base on Sachin's experience he can earn from advertisements, commentary etc..but what about youngsters ??

@Paresh: In that case, u leave your job now so that some youngster can benifit from that. U people judge the future of a person by 1 test match....! It is amusing.

all to blame for loss

india suffered a humiliating defeat in the 1st test, & instead of targetting some particular players the entire team needs some introspection.apart from dravid, praveen & ishant in england's 2nd innings, all the rest's performances were below par.sachin had already manifested that he had viral, so one should not expect much from him in our 2nd innings. the hype around sachin's 100th century took its toll in him.the entire BCCI contingent,BJP president gadkari & many others were present in lord's to see sachin achieve the feat, instead it put him under tremendous pressure.its a paradox but sachin's 3 rivals-azhar,saurav,& dravid all have 100's @ lords whereas sachin will have to retire without one, as one does expect sachin to be a member of the indian team's 2016 england tour.there were 2 commentators - , avid sachin " chamchas" who were carrying out a countdown to the time sachin became eligible to bat, devoid of the fact that laxman & gambhir were batting quite well. these two commentators should remember that cricket is a game played by 11 players & not by one individual.they behaved as they were on his payroll.

Lord's debacle
by anand Swaminathan on Jul 26, 2011 10:33 AM  | Hide replies

I would like to know what is the average of Sachin's 4th Innigs.

Now-a-days people are bowling to him more straight as his tendency to shuffle across to play through Mid Wicket. Because of his age, he could not time the ball well and always adjudged leg before wicket.
The BCCI should do one thing. Please call Zimbawae or kenya or Bangaldesh team to India tour so that Sachin can complete 100th century and retire from test cricket and all forms of cricket and start coaching his son.

Mr. Dhoni is giving catch practice.

Only good-sign that Mukund batted well both the innings. His bad luck he got inside edge and ball rolled into the stumps

Anand,
78.10 average in 2010.

Sachin Tendulkar led the pack of leading Test run scorers for the calendar year 2010 and his average was only matched by that of South Africa’s Hashim Amla.
Sachin : 1562 runs from 14 matches at an average of 78.10 with seven 100s.

People like you are giving him an unstinting support, he would play till the age of 50.

If you are having a tag of "Champion Batsman", he would prove in the 4th innings to save the team from the crisis.

Please see Lara, Waugh, Ricky how many times they saved their team in 4th 4th innings.

I am also fan of Sachin. When he could not do well because of his age, he has to retire and give an opportunity to youngster like Virat, Rohit and Badri etc.

indian team failed in all the departments starting with unfit zaheer was a blow it was a risk, dhoni had made some blunders he should have asked ishant to bowl after the break it was silly to hear from ishant that he was tired and he was not ready to bowl it cost india heavily and last sachin was bitten by a record bug and he was out of his elements if not he would have scored 100th century and india would have saved the test common sachin admirers please grow he lost his touch leave him let him retire graciously dont burden him more, even commentators are behaving like children to see his 100th ton they virtually started a countdown in the middle when laxman and gambhir are batting saying that sachin can bat in 12 mins, he can bat in 5 mins. and so as if other batsmen are of no value, please give credit to other players also if indian team has won matches in the last 2 decades its not only because of one player its a teameffort let praise the team not a person .Indian team should make some changes drop bhajji give a chance to others drop players who are unfit who ever they are may be an 5 feet recordbook.
