Why Dravid should consider retirement..Lets see
by nice guy on Jul 14, 2011 02:17 PM  | Hide replies

Enough of him. Tired to see his tortoise paced batting. He just cant score quick runs. He should have been kicked out from the Eng series.

2010: Ind vs Aus..Test 1 2nd Innings: 13 (34)
Test 2 1st innings 1 (7)

2010: Ind vs NZ: Test 2 1st Innings : 45(144)
Ind vs NZ.. Test 3 2nd innings : 1 (16)
2010: SA vs Ind ...Test 3: 1st inns: 5 (16)
2nd innings 31(112)
Test 2: 1st inn: 25 (68)
2nd inn: 2 (7)
Test 1: 1st inn: 14 (42)
2nd inn: 43 (109)

Enough..or u guys want some more...U all blind dravid supporters realize.
.time to kick him out.

Remember because of his slow paced innings, we could not go for win in Dominica. Second test also his slow innings with Laxman made the draw. But all say weather is cause.

Dravid..Please take rest. We have seen enough of you.

Sheet anchor...Too much of anchoring lead to forced draw in dominica. You also need to see innings where he failed miserably. Entire SA series he failed. what more?

Dhoni could have always asked him to accelerate, but captain had purposefully chose not to. Raina tried to press the gas and perished. If Dravid was out, there was always a possibility that Sammy would liked to play all the mandatory overs and try for a win.

Dhoni could definitely not rely on anyone else to play out the overs.

Considering the context (that the series was in India's pocket), there was not need to take the risk of slipping it.

Dear Mr. Nice Guy...The only Test match that we won in West Indies and took the series ie the 1st test match - Dravid 40 (1st inning) and 112 (2nd Inning)...Any thoughts on that?

Same against Newzealand (2010 3rd test Nagpur) - the only test India won (by innings and 198 runs), Dravid scored 191 and ws the MOM

Both Yuvraj and Raina should be included
by vikadakavi on Jul 14, 2011 01:52 PM  | Hide replies

Since Sehwag is not available for the first test, Rahul Dravid can be asked to open the Indian batting with Gambhir and though it may not be palatable to young Abhinav Mukund, he may be asked to wait for his chances.

This will help both Yuvraj and Raina to be in the middle order.

The batting order will then be Dravid, Gambhir, V V S Laxman, Tendulkar, Yuvraj, Raina and Dhoni. If Laxman can extend his recent string of sucessess and Tendulkar actualizes his idea of enjoying the England tour (by the way, making it enjoyable for his countless fans too!) then this batting line up can be as good as any in contemporary cricket anywhere.

Agree...Dravid can open the ininings, if dhoni wants both Yuvraj and Raina. Anyway, Mukund has to make way for Saiwag when he is back.

Absolutely Logical suggestion.
Anyways Mukund is still very inexperienced and will be a sitting duck against Anderson Tremlett & co.
Dravid MUST OPEN along with Gambhir, since any case Dravid will come to bat in a couple of overs even if he is slotted one down. In such situations, Dravid has opened before with reasonable success.
Also a left-right combination is better than left-left.

y not the so called "god" tendlya should open the inningse and solve all team india problems..???
y it is allways dravid must handle the tough and delicate batting situations for team india...???
y tendulkar refuses to cope with batting order and team needs...??
y cant he himself come and bat at no.3 position for team india..??
why allways dravid..??
since tendlyaa played more than 400 one dayers as an opener..!!!!
let him handle this challenging opening position in "test cricket"...
let him play for "team needs" as an opener....play for the best interest of the team rather than his batting position....
can he do this...???
ofcourse not....
dravid is there for rescue team india at no.3
tendlya is for scoring "his 100's"...
