Openers should get a longer rope
by Nikhil Shah on Jul 07, 2011 11:15 PM

The consideration of dropping Vijay for the third test is not advisable. India will be going with a make-shift opener like Parthiv and that will hamper the development of opening pairs.

The chronic absences of Sehwag, Gambhir and Sachin in ODIs and Tests created a problem for India in recent times in the 20/20 WC and other matches.

Rohit, Raina, Kohli and some of the youngsters were exposed to short pitch bowling and were bounced out.

Both Vijay and Mukund can be excellent backups for the near future. Vijay needs to get his confidence and body language going.

It was unfortunate to see Mukund not play in the ODIs with an List-A average of 57 and an SR of 83 look pretty solid. The dropping of Shikhar was also not correct. Openers typically take longer to mature because of the lack of pace and bounce.

If there is no technique and talent, it becomes harder to cement your place on just sheer hard work or grit.

India needs to persist with Vijay, Mukund and Shikhar longer to become backups to Sehwag and Gambhir.

Wishing Dhoni a very happy birthday, many happy returns
by Orient Mystique on Jul 06, 2011 01:07 PM

Dhoni's birthday is 7th July 1981.

Tomorrow he will turn 30.

I wish him heartily a very happy birthday and many happy returns of the day.

I wish that his team mates will make his birthday memorable by winning the 3rd test starting today and the series, which will be only the third time by India in West Indies in many years of cricket played between the two countries.

I also hope he entertains his numerous fans with a typical blistering knock of his in this test.

the videshi and ghora media is now in sports as well as regular political and business media.

Media influence and business acquisition is part of videshi spy budget.

they also have earning from videshi companies operating in india and through their broker companies.

On top of all this, Micheal holding ( a converted slave) follows angrezi religion and is been given money to give this cowdrey lecture to encourage his views grown by angrezi and ghoras media.

too much indirect politics by angrez and ghoras,
"I have no sympathy with India," said Holding during the MCC Spirit of Cricket Cowdrey Lecture

Angrez as usual before partition mobilized their brokers like jinnah, nehru and gandhi and many more to bring about partition.

the angrez opened videshi accounts for nehru-gandhi-jinnah-etc. still, sonia-rahul have access to those accounts.

when will India mobilize it's supports instead of just calling shots in the air.

too much dependence on gambhir and yuvi and new openers on trial can backfire. selectors should consider rohit and pragyan in running.

i dont know if selectors are planning well for next test and upcoming series for england.

pragyan ojha should not be left out for england for test matches.

not planning when zaheer and sresanth fades. new bunch of pacers and spinners and batsmen should be developed.

Look into that mirror,Sachin by Ian Chappell
by cool dude on Jul 06, 2011 03:25 AM  | Hide replies

Before anybody else makes a decision on what will happen to Tendulkar the player himself has to have a good long look into the mirror and decide what he's trying to achieve in the game. At the moment he looks like a player trying to eke out a career; build on a glittering array of statistics. If he really is playing for that reason and not to help win as many matches as he can for India then he is wasting his time and should retire immediately.

If Tendulkar had found an honest mirror three years ago and asked the question; "Mirror, mirror on the wall who is the best batsman of all?" It would've answered; "Brian Charles Lara." If he asked that same mirror right now; "Mirror, mirror on the wall should I retire?" The answer would be; "Yes."

you are fools. Only the best should play. Age immaterial. scoring rate, runs, average and anything else, sachin still has no match even in recent matches. vijay, kohli, etc must wait till sachin feels he is done, or till his performance falls. advocates like you are of no value and relevance.
