Tough one for indians...with SOO much pride and over confidence..We have very little chance of winning it. Good LUCK.

Impressive performance?

Oh wait! Did we not lose ODI series in SA?
Did India's top order batting not collapse in every single match we played against SA?

We did lose but closely fought. I don't think the batsmen from either side really dominated. They had a couple of batsmen scoring and so did we. It was not a one sided series as expected.

Team India won the closely fought matches. But the 3 matches they lost were one sided.

Bhajji is right. The playing conditions are totally different India. But history says that home team has never won World cup. The pressure will be too much on Indian team.

Cricketfan:

You are right about the matches we won... they were closely fought and in fact it was SA who lost those games rather than we win it.

Can't say the same about the ones WE lost...

We are not fully confidence about world cup victory. That means early exit is the most likely to happen thing in the WC.

The team that peaks at the right time will win. This is a long tournament and will be a very different test than shorter ones. The recent Aus - England series England seems to have dipped down significantly. Perhaps they are saving their best for the WC. This is more about stamina and bouncing back from the first 1-2 losses - something like Pak in 92. After the Ashes I would have thought about them, but otherwise I think India has the potential to win this one provided that they correct their acts.

Present Indian Team looking forward for IPL & not for
by rajesh rs on Jan 30, 2011 08:41 PM

The world cup is scheduled during examination times & the IPL during the summer vacation. This clearly indicates that no one is interested in World cup earnings & more interested in IPL earnings.
Our Indian team players are also playing for IPL & just take up the worldcup for the sake of just playing. So one can think that Indian players will not play for the country (in World cup) but will play better in IPL(for individual earnings).
Corruption in Indian Politics & Corruption in our Games also.
