i play for country at the same time i think about record i dont miss any oppurunity to make sure the record is achieved irrespective of india winning or loosing .. i gave up captaincy as i was bothered about record and not country i made a grumpy face when rahul dravid declared the match when i was 194 irrespective of thinking india won that match . i play for country and not for records thats the reason i have blocked a place in oDI teams and play as per my requirement southafrican tour is one example .. i dont think chance should be given to any youngster as i paly for my country and not them even i am not the same 5 years back .. i play for my country and not for records coz i know this worldcup is in india at intail stages we have matches with low calibre team wher in i will make my 50 centuries irrespective india win or loss i play for my country and not records.. appla tendlya

U do make a point to be fair.
But at end of the day,u will realize that Sachin has been carrying the burden of indian cricket for too long.He does try for his records, while trying to win a game, whats wrong in that.
Last IPL he was the top scrorer, but mumbai still lost out.Coz he was one man army.
Every world cup he played he did well for india.
When Sachin is out on 40s,we call ,that was cheaply dismissed?Such is the standard of that Man.
Now at this hour he still is the best indian batsmen in the indian team.
I would like you to comment,on the day when sachin retires, from all forms of cricket!
Millions will weep at the stadium, and i for sure will retire from watching cricket.

Lemon Squash:

I pray that your wishes come true and India get all out within 30 runs in each match.
Then records won't be made and we will win all those matches and ultimately the World Cup... :)

P.S: and the bowlers too should take ZERO wickets in those matches lest some sort of bowling record be created accidentally... ;-)

INDIA'S CHANCE OF WINNING WORLD CUP
by hariharan on Jan 29, 2011 04:52 PM  | Hide replies

One should know that we do not have enough strength to bat all 50 overs. Without Laxman or Dravid this is not possible. This will be a weak point for India.

without VVS LAXMAN and R. DRAVID no chance.
by sharmamvs on Jan 29, 2011 04:45 PM  | Hide replies

The prediction of VVS LAXMAN is very much appreciated. He is a real gentleman. He has not cared for his selection. That shows his sportmanspirit.

The team selected is having potential to lift the world cup, with their physic and they are not having that much cofidence to lift the world cup, with their capacities.

The Selection committee, at least selected LAXMAN, FOR THE world cup. He has not played in 2004, 2007, though he is in peak form. This is just because of GANGULY AND GREG CHAPPEL.

Please atleast now the Selection committee include, LAXMAN, THE SAVIOUR OF INDIAN CRICKET, FOR THE forth coming world cup even now.

Sorry VVS

VVS is a great player, but he is off the mark here. History tells that no home team has ever won the world cup.
That is bound to continue.
