indian cricket borad which is earning billions of dollars per year through ipl , commercial tv adds and from other many sources . indian cricket board is the richest cricket board in the world still our ground r not ready and on the other way bangladesh the poorest board is ready to organise every match . ITS REALLY SHAMEFULL...........
If you consider Wankhede or any other Mumbai pitch, it is pathetic to have any cricket there. The pitch is set for mud wrestling. ICC is considering the stadium and not the pitch. Eden pitch is famous for its support for batsmen as well as bowler. The only aberration was in 1996 Semi Final. That pitch was under-prepared because of the opening ceremony.
But see Mumbai pitches. India lost there in Semi final in 1986. India lost there in 1996 against Australia. Mumbai pitch is not at all lucky for India. Like Feroz Shah Kotla, Mumbai pitch is good only for draw tests.
Chennai and Eden Gardens are the only two stadiums in India which give fair chances for both the teams.
In 1996, people were very much angry on kambli. He was crying such that he alone will win the cup with Kumble (another batting joke). The night before he was dancing in a disco theque.

why such hue and cry for eden garden there are many more pitches and cricket grounds in India...lets enjoy cricket

a good pitch is not decided by India's winning history on it. It is a real shame that they cannot complete the work at least 20 days before of crickets biggest event.
would have preferred finals of world cup cricket at eden gardens,kolkata - with semis at wankhede stadium,mumbai & chepauk stadium.chennai - cricket,cricket,cricket - only on basis of preparation of wickets & lush green outfield since 1960's in kolkata & chennai & accomodation at the stadias - opinions differ

No fear. BCCI will threaten ICC and get Eden approved even if pitch is sub-standard and India loses (as happened in SF in 1996). BCCI will make money and that is all it cared about.
