PIYUSH CHAWLA - SELECTION JUSTIFIED
by rambo only on Jan 18, 2011 11:27 AM

think selection of Piyush Chawla is justified.

We have to consider the performance in 1st class matches during the intervening period when he was out of National Team. His last season has been good.

Agree with you
by True Indian on Jan 18, 2011 11:21 AM  | Hide replies

Even when I dont agree on his support for Jadeja, I completely agree on selecting Chawla ahead of Rohit becos
1. He doesnt have the ability to increase the scoring rate like others in our team
2. He is a nervous starter
3. Poor runner btw wickets
4. He anyway wd not be playing as top 7 slots are already taken. Chawla can be one of the 4 bowlers or an allrounder for cracked pitches

Irfan pathan could have been a better choice than Chawla had he been fit. DHoni doesnt seem to like him a lot

Dhoni's behaviour in recent times
by thomas mathew on Jan 18, 2011 11:19 AM  | Hide replies

Dhoni has been behaving in a one sided manner like the zamindars in Bihar and UP and seems to do what he likes irrespective of what others do. In the case of Sreesanth, he may have a bad temper or aggressive behaviour with opposite team members but this captain of India has always been pointing a finger at him but never ever stood by him even once. In other countries like australia and South Africa , captains like waugh, Ponting etc have stood by their players in any such instances and these have paid dividends. Here he mocks junior players and not mend them and shows off his power. Today he is on top of his ride on Lady Luck and perhaps in World cup , we may see the start ofthe downfall. Who knows? And he has a puppet ring master in Srikanth who will act at his whims and fancies and all he needs is the incllusion of one or two of his croonies from Tamilnadu. For that he will do anything .

Agree, he should have rebuked Srisanth privately not publicly. McGrath & other such bowlers have behaved worse on the field but their captains never publicly berated them

Typical North Indian groupism.
Dhoni has ganged up with his cronies to ensure that Sreeasanth is out. There was already some issue during the third test

Very sad state of affairs

What Jeff Says.
by manoj nair on Jan 18, 2011 11:18 AM

Jeff lawson said its a big blunder to avoid Sreeshant from the WC indian side. Sree is the most aggressive & sharp player in the current indian team. [remember his performance in the semi final agst australia in the T-20 WC]

Rohit is a pure T20 player. Even Robin Uthappa has played better in one dayers but was not even in the probables. Piyush and Ashwin may or may not play with harbhajan leading the attack with support from part timers sehwag, yusuf, raina and yuvraj

ZERO CUP
by HariKumar S on Jan 18, 2011 11:10 AM  | Hide replies

Dhoni is behaving as Sourav now a days, keeping all his well wishers aside and throws out the ones who he does not care whatever the performance be (like Sreesanth). It is time for media to dig into his activities. If you see matches which Sachin plays well, Dhoni wants to lose the matches because he hates Sachin. He does not even wants Sachin to hit a century or hitting a run to win. It is high time to measure his thoughts and deeds.
