I am a cricket fan, but I dread the coming two months, as the hype is going to be insufferable. Some channels today potrayed the 15 selected today, as soldiers selected for battle, and there was loud 'patriotic' music in the background. And someone called Boria Majumdar was shouting out instructions in order to win the cup, and ridiculing the aussies and the english for already preparing their subcontinent excuses. All this before the cup has even started!!And worse, some so called civilised english channel was ridiculing the selection of ashwin, saying that cSK bias selected him! ANd now we'll soon have some washed up singers coming up with motivational albums which will be played all day on news channels/fm stations etc. And if they lose, that will give an oppurtunity to failed former cricketers and the same media to blast them, esp genuine achievers like MSD and tendulkar. Two months of these borias and sidhus shouting and singing, and losers from bollywood professing love for cricket and ads interrupting live coverage, and pepsi ads featuring cricketers. Wish I was in England or AUs following it via sky or channel 9. I genuinely wish India wins, but when will the media treat it in a civilised manner and respect players from opposition as well?
