Though it is overall a proper selection, I am surprised by the fact that there is no 2nd wicket keeper !! And to be honest I cant see any justification behind havin chawla in there... Can nyone?
Also I personaly feel Nehra can be a big risk. He is famous for licking run consistantly and whenever I see him in run up It reminds me the 2003 WC final.. Sreeshanth would have been a better choice or at least RP singh

If Dhoni is injured, Indian team will be playing without a Wicket Keeper!!!
Dhoni was afraid to include another Wicket Keeper for fear of loosing his importance in the future!! And all the Northies are in support of this attitude!
This selection once again proves that Northies are AntiNationals when it comes to selection of a talented person to represent India!!!
I guess we are underestimating our playing conditions... India needs batsman's like Rohit and Uthappa.. Piyush Chawla is not needed at all...Sehwag and Yuvraj can easily support Harbhajan in case of spin bowling deptt. Munaf should not be judged on his last matcg performance, Sree should be given priority over Munaf... my personal suggestion... Uthappa or Rohit in place of Chawla and Sreesanth in place of Munaf Irfan Pathan for Ashwin
Selectors should understand that this is a WORLD CUP, not any other quarter yearly series with Sri Lanka

You are in dark Irfan is injured and not available for selection.
Sree his rpo is the highest and most incosisten bowler and get emotional easily and bowl wide or full toss.
Uthappa and Rohit both got more chances to prove than any other cricketer in india and still their sucess rate is less than the expected international standards, instead we can give chance to new faces like tiwari, etc.

You are right with the facts that sreesanth has was given only two matches in India against NZ ODI and has tally of 3 & 4 wickets. He never got any opportunity in the first two matches of SA series. Are we all fools to ignore these matters?
Sreesanth was the best right hand Indian fast bowler who played in SA. Let us hope he will recovery from this blow to help us more overseas tours victories
I am not blaming Zaheer, Praveen and munaf being in the side. But the inclusion of Nehara, Ashwin and also Piyush makes the matter surprising
I wish the team good luck and hope to see Sachin full fill his dream of winning the world cup for the country. Truly god of cricket
Sreesanth: India being one of the countries, which has many professionals, but does not even, has the capability to control the match winner to behave properly in cricket field. We are still under developed country in every sense. I will surely watch him bowl at SA, AUS, PAK & Eng team as he is one among the true passionate cricketers like Saurav, sachin, kapil and name few

I was vacationing in Vietnam and people thought I was an American guy, they called me Hi rocky, Hi Rambo. I was little shocked as my friends often called me Mr Stallone, like he was in that movie Cobra. What must have happened is that these guys must have watched those famous Rocky and Rambo movies and I reminded them of Sylvester Stallone, and they say him in me due to similar looks.
I am not being biased nor do not want to rake up the North-South issue. I am just putting forth an opnion based on assessment of performance. I guess Nehra and Sreesanth have been consistent in leaking runs, giving away extras and getting hammered all around the park. Nehra’s physical fitness status was always in question and so is Sreesanth’s temperament. Both are talented and can be dangerous on their day. I would say going by some of the recent games and also in the past, Sreesanth has more killer instinct, natural aggression and the zest to win when compared to Nehra who is not in a so-good form recently. Anyway keeping this fact aside, I guess Sreesanth’s inclusion in the ODI team may not have been a very bad decision considering the fact that Nehra can also be equally expensive on sub-continent pitches. Many players in Indian team are known for their bad temeparment, including Harbhajan and Gambhir ..then how come Sreesanth is singled out for bad temperament. What made him lose favour? Is it that the selectors have been unfair to him..or it issomething else? Sreesanth has got us some of most needed wickets in desperate situations and I can’t quote many for Nehra. Thus Sreesanth’s inclusion (still possible considering the present bowler's fitness of the) might actually prove beneficial and in some cases a fortune for the team. Anyway still the matters rest with selectors and we as fans can only put

Anyway still the matters rest with selectors and as fans can only put forth views on public forums. May the best performing team win.
With full respect to chawla, why do they need him in the world cup squad? There are already so many part time spinners and only 2 spinners will be played in a match. You have sehwag, sachin, yuvraj, raina, pathan all are spinners. It's really ridiculus. They could have opted for uttappa, who could have opened the innings, keep wickets and a good fielder too. Murali
I am proud of you Sreesanth. Its only because of Dhonis politics that you were not allowed to play in ODI and thus out of team inspite of being the best fast bowler for India on SA tour. Just with one match munaf was included in world cup. Sreesanth was intensionally not played in ODI in SA just coz to keep him out of world cup squad. If he performs well then a question will arise why he is not taken so didnt pick him in 11. Shame on you Dhoni & Srikanth for playing such a cheap politics in Indian cricket and denying chance to deserving guys.
