A Clear picture of World cup.
by richa on Jan 13, 2011 10:04 AM  | Hide replies

It was a clear picture of upcoming worldcup, well all often talk about Indians great batting lineup, but it is more to do with their batting in TEST MATCHES, Where you have batsman like sachin, dravid, laxman who are performing for you in critical positions and on the other side in One day internationals you have really unreliable middle order and the other thing is the fitness of indian players which is really horrible and their fielding efforts proving it again and again and bowling is equally bad, so can india even expect to be winner of this upcoming worldcup just on the basis of his legendary batsmen of flat wickets, i really don't think so, although this worldcup is in india.

NO NEED OF ROCKET SCIENCE TO KNOW WE R POOR ON BOUNCIER PITCHES
by Arvind KS on Jan 13, 2011 10:03 AM  | Hide replies

NO NEED OF ROCKET SCIENCE TO KNOW WE R POOR ON BOUNCIER PITCHES.

THIS IS WORLD NUMBER ONE TEAM FOR YOU, I do not recall any world number teams of the past, be it AUSTRALIA in 90s and 2000 and WI in 70s and 80s, who were CHAMPIONS in their courtyard only.

THIS SO CAALED and OVERHYPED INDIAN team looked vulnerable and poor on bouncier pitches. THe question is not that we lost the game, the way it was timidly surrendered, is the worrying aspect. For me, the world one tag to INDIA specially in ODI format, will come, if others play poorly outside subcontinent, rather than we dominate the game.

PATHETIC to see every SA bowler could get the bounce as they were ready to bent their back. Where all Indian bowelrs could not extract any bounce, neither they could utilize the pitch (am not talking about evening seam movement here, which was in any case was not very high).

FIELDING POOR, Experienced bowlers like NEHRA refuse to learn and are a big liability. Where we are heading for. Yet another disappointing world cup in STORE. WAKE UP, do not expect a world cup from this team.

TAKE HOME MESSAGE, this team may falter either at the end or somewhere near about. DOES NOT HAVE in them to lift the world cup.

It is really rare to see her if someone speaking truth from the brain instead of over-sensitive heart for over-hyped INDIAN CRICKET.

Sehwag-Gambhir
by mukesh shrivastava on Jan 13, 2011 09:58 AM  | Hide replies

India badly missed Sehwag and Gambhir at the top. They would have made the difference. But be sure india will bounce back.

main prob
by girish k on Jan 13, 2011 09:56 AM  | Hide replies

this forum only blamin on tendulkar n dhoni..but here main prob is bowling...indian.bowling look disaster in fornt of s afrccan bowlers....easily made 289 runs...which made extra pressure to indian batsmen to score..and steyn and co..took advantage of it...if india wants to win w cup bowling dept shuld be improved very vast..

Absolutely correct. No one talks about our so called `fast bowling'. These guys bowl at 120 to 125 km, without any variety and control and invariably leaks runs. This issue needs to be addressed and we need to have a long drawn plan to develop fast bowlers who are genuinely quick and not military medium if we are to do well.

GETTING EARLY WICKETS, WIN MATCHES
by sunil menon on Jan 13, 2011 09:54 AM

OUR TONDU BHAIS LIKE YUVRAJ, MURLI ETC. GOOD FOR NOTHING ARE ALLOWED TO PLAY STILL WHEN THEY ARE NOT SO GOOD. IT IS ONLY DUE TO DHONI'S INSISTENCE TO GET BOWLERS LIKE ISHANT SHARMA ETC. WE WILL NEVER WIN. DHONI KA BAAP KA CRICKET TEAM HAI KYA. DHONI HAS BECOME VERY ARROGANT AND EGOISM HAS CREPT HIS MIND AS HE UNDERSTAND NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TO HIM EVEN IF INDIA GOES ON GOING FOR DRAWS OR LOSE THE GAME.

Series is not yet over . Still 4 games to go and India will definitely win 3 of the remaining 4. India will bounce back and win the ODI series

Need fast bowlers
by navneeth sarathy on Jan 13, 2011 09:50 AM  | Hide replies

We should give some add in TV or Newspapers.

" Need fast bowlers who can bowl above 140 kmph, rich BCCI ready to pay crores"

Is getting a fast bowler that difficult ?

We in India have some strongly built guyz all over Punjab and what we get from Punjab is a spinner and a fat Yuvraj who bowls slow like Salim Malik or Chris Harris

We in India have a lot of guyz with 6 packs/8 packs . Why can't those guyz bowl fast.

I still remember once in TV Kapil Dev asking John Abraham to become a Fast bowler as he had a good physic

Wrong ideas Navneeth. Glen Mcgrath did not have six packs. Sreesanth bowls very effectively - he does not have six packs. Two, you dont have to be strongly built tobe a good bowler. India's best pace bowlers - Roger binny, prasad, srinath, sreesanth are all south indians and not from punjab.

wait , India has had only 1 world class pace bowler and that bowler also happens to be the best all rounder India had produced.

There are plenty of north /east /south /west , but there has been only 1 world class bowler and that is Sir Kapil Dev

Need better wickets at home
by navneeth sarathy on Jan 13, 2011 09:44 AM

Need bounce at least till chest level. Look at the Ranji Final and you will know what I ma talking.

And need fast bowlers.. We have lot of six packs, eight packs guys in india. Very Strongly build guyz in Punjab but still we don't have anyone who can bowl at 140 kmph

I remember I saw in TV once, Kapil Dev asking John Abraham " You have such a nice physic , why don't you become a fast bowler ? "

Is bowling fast that difficult ?
