If you are so dissatisfied then why dont u run along to join paki politics. We dont want pig heads like you in our developing country. You can can come back and apply for a visa when we have openings for cheap labour... good luck
You are finished, period.Nobody cares anymore.Cry me a river. You forgot to be good to people on your way up.Now you're meeting the same people on your way down. And oh yeah, are they enjoying rubbing it on!
Ponting would be doing much better if he began reviewing his own performance both as captain and as a batsman instead of blaming the structure, media, selectors and of course ex players.

Slowly?I'd say it was disappearing ultrafast!Even Zimbabwe fancies it's chances against them nowadays.
If he wants selectors to retain him, he just needs to focus their attention towards the hope that he is the only Australian capable of beating Sachins Test record.
Remember how OZ selectors persisted with the lousy batting of Allan Border simply bcoz he was close to breaking Gavaskars record?
Ponting needs to play on their superiority-complex that an OZ is supposed to hold the batting records and then the magic YES will come
Re: Ponting isnt playing his cards right

He isn't scoring any runs though. The Aussies lost the Ashes because their entire batting lineup became out of form at the same time. Ponting's future will be determined by how he goes in the world cup.

No worries.Maybe you should stay out of others business instead. It would solve a lot of your problems.Take care.
not producing high quality cricketeres? i guess team has good players..hussey,clarke,punter himself are supposed to be good quality players...england outplayed them in this series, thats it..aussies didnt perform .....what does it has to do with structure of cricket in australia? if u go for correcting at that level, u will need atleast 3-4 years more to produce some players who can come near to the likes of mcgrath, warne et al

RD:
You make the most valid point. Australia just had Hussey, Clarke and Punter.
With Punter out of form, Clarke struggling with his back injury (which kept him from bowling too); the whole team depended on Hussey and Haddin.
The moment they too stopped firing after Perth; England's well strung unit had a field day.
One day (or rather One Test) wonders like Johnson and Siddle gave momentary excitement to some days in some tests; but beyond that it was the pretty ordinary offerings from Hughes & Smith with the bat; Watson unable to learn how to stay at the wicket to continue with his good starts; and pretty ordinary bowling by almost the entire Aussie squad... .
In short; some soul searching required for them to convert a collection of fairly ordinary cricketers into a well knit and well oiled outfit regularly expected from Australia... :)
P.S.: I almost forgot to add, Ponting's thoroughly listless marshalling of whatever scant resources he had available throughout... :)
Re: Re: Re: domestic structure ?
by Roshni Dev on Jan 10, 2011 11:43 AM
but the same domestic structure gave them the players who made the mighty australian side ... isn't it ? then whats gone wrong..specially when u have such players as ur idols..dont u think it has more to do with the ability of players rather than the domestic structure...and P.S.any captain will marshal his best resources often :)
Mr Ponting, let it be known to you that your future is only in your hands ,you perfom you will b selected if not have the guts to stay away from it . i ask why pointing didnt say that his future was in the hands of selectors when he was blazing away with runs ... that was like i am playing well so its obivoiusi have to be picked , this is where the legends like sachin one & only stands alone ,without any competition in this race not even bradman ,i say this ' cause of the pressure he has handled with thepublic expectation is always high !!!!

Muffadal Broachwala:
I agree with your first point, that Ponting has to perform; which means he will have to get into the Australian team first, for which he has said his future rests with the Selectors.
But I didn't understand your logic of introducing Sachin v/s Bradman debate into this discussion.

Probably it's the same logic that makes you bring India into the discussion everytime somebody trashes the Aussies?

You take any captain in the world no one is like Ponting. His arrogant approach which leads all miserable things in Australian cricket.Actually speaking Australia can select 5 national team to the World Cup, such a wonderful talents and domestic structure they are having.Where Ponting is failing, he has to to respect the people as well as the opponents, that is the only way to rebuild team Austalia.

its nothing in the article my dear , its his approach to the game & to the people involved with it,

As a captain he has to play first...Can you tell me what is the average of Ponting in the total Ashes series??? actually now only he is facing a quality pace bowling. He is searching a reason for these defeats. Before that he is not aware the Australian structure??
Re: Re: Paying price for your Arrogant and Admant...
by Anand on Jan 10, 2011 11:12 AM
Please you read the article properly. He is requesting for a through examine in the structure of the game.Is it the reason for the failure?? His tonge is not good.Do you have remember what he spoken before starts Ashes?? Ponting under estimating every body that is the problem. As I mentioned earlier you can select 5 national team from their domestic players that is the fact. There is no scarcity for players in Aus..........tonge of Ponting is the problem.

Pseudos: You and Ponting what fault finds in the structure? instead of performing still he is blaming the structure. You may be the worshiper of Ponting that is what the truth is bitter for you.You are writing your views here... will you inform and guiding Indian Cricket??? when India suffers in defeats?? don't ask foolish question. You kind of Ponting followers still not learning after all the team gave nice slaps.

:) I read the article properly. He is requesting for a thorough examination of the structure to ensure enough high quality test cricketers are produced.
Since you have found at least 55 such players, can you a) list them; and b) tell us why you didn't inform Australian the National Selectors? Accordin to your logic it was the Tongue of Ponting that stopped the selectors (and yourself) from publicising this closely guarded secret? :)

Still you kind of Ponting followers not learning the lesson after beating all small team.
