"Sachin Tendulkar has for the first time admitted that the match-fixing episodes in 1999-2000 had initially affected his game and the Indian team had to go through a difficult and painful phase as "spectators looked at us with suspicion"."

Mr. Tendulkar, for your kind information, people with even an ounce of common sense have never stopped suspecting everybody associated with Cricket of match fixing.

It is the good fortune of Cricket that there isn't another sport fans can follow or you and all other cricketers would have been working in government jobs earning Rs. 15,000 per month now!!

SRT is confused- match fixing came out in the open after SA tour of India in 2000 which was held after 1999 tour by india of australia!
till the delhi police blew the lid on these things nobody had any clue about these goings-on

There is no confusion here. Most of us heard about match-fixing in all its gory detail in March 2000 (when it hit the news). That's not to say, folks closer to the international game didn't suspect something earlier. Re-read what Sachin said: "I remember that there was stage in 1999-2000 when it was very difficult as we were to play Australia. Before the series these things started making rounds. As a cricketer, that's the last thing I want".

No matter how many times we re read it,this is a big lie from Sachin(God of cricket no doubt cause he is a great batsmen)the aus series was played from late 1999 to 2000 down under and at that time spectators never doubted the team,it was his incompetence as a captain that led to the teams downfall.plus what about the loss in 2000 series against South africa/]/Its funny cronje was trapped by Delhi police when the losing team was india...hahahah

Also what about Dada?he took over as a captain and took the team to great heights during the turmoil.it shows he was better as captain than SRT who is a coward to come up with stuff like this after 10 years..

:) Sachin wanted to oblige you and give you a chance to curse him enough; hence he purposely told a big lie on Media interviews so that you can be happy... ;-)

Else why would he forget the facts during the 1999-2000 time frame when YOU remember them clearly, as if you were more inside the Indian team's dressing room than HE was? :)

The jugglary of proof and credits have taken toll of essences and genuineness. In agroup or in the organization,it is not difficult to put the recoard clean, provided leadership is honest and clean.Cricket too have been let down by its leaders, most often.
