Its IPL boss, Just support your players not team. The name of team given as per the city but that do not mean they are representing the city.

Agreed with james! Support your player! I'm supporting MI because of Sachin!
Was, supporting Deccan for Gilly and Rohit but now Punjab :)
Bonus, Rohit is in Mumbai now but I hate that Agarkar is in Delhi! Wish if he were in MI as well!

BETTER THAN MANY
by madanmohan siddhanthi on Jan 11, 2011 09:36 AM  | Hide replies

Ambatti is far better player than many of jokers playing for India .He is a hrad hitting bataman ,Agood feild in the deep with very strong arms , kept wickets and by and large asafe hand for catches .BCCI being BCCI will need god fathers .Also shocked at the delay inMurali Kathik - one player whom the BCCI destroyed methodically .

Agree, he is a hugely talented batsman who can add depth to our team. He needs to be more consistent and rattle up big scores to catch the eye of selectors

Chennai is the only team that did not dump locals or their ex
by vathula on Jan 11, 2011 07:48 AM

Balaji- Bid up to 475k; Finally KKR bot for 500k
Murali- Bid up to 1 million; Bot by Kochi for 1.1 mio
They also bid for Parthiv; the only 2 players not bid were Oram and Gony.
They retained/ bought 10 players: Dhoni, Vijay, Badri, Ashwin, Raina, Morkel, Bollinger, Hussey, Bailey, Joginder.

No other teams comes close. The CSK players' morale will be very high unlike others.

Ravindra Jadeja, the all rounder, bought for 4.3 crores
by vathula on Jan 11, 2011 07:39 AM  | Hide replies

Many forumers are making a mistake because Jadeja is not slected as a batsman or a bowler. He is selected from the list of All-R0under.

Waste of money, instead they should have gone in for Swann or Anderson or Lara who would have guided the team and showed the way with their presence and aura.

this useless player will only put goggles and show off giving away runs and taking no wickets

Top 30 uncapped players- new auction needed
by vathula on Jan 11, 2011 07:33 AM

There are about 30 uncapped players who will be in demand. have the following rules:
#1. Budget of US$ 600k
#2. Each franchise can select max 3
Then do an auction.
There were so many foreigner names auctioned. I saw many of the franchises yawning and some body even sleeping. There is a very good demand for these 'uncapped' players.

IPL as usual more money less game
by bn yalamalli on Jan 11, 2011 07:32 AM  | Hide replies

and Mr.Mallya as usual more arrogant.

First wrong was naming Teams with Places.
Second is to to do auctions in public.

Afterall in the game, all players are equal.
Their commercial values need be kept a secret.

Mallya said the selection was by the mentor Kumble. It is hard to believe.

One the star players of Karnataka let to go.
Count K players in RCB.
Star players in thw world like Kallis let to go.

Even the young, promising and delivering lads like Manish Pandey not to be seen.

It seems to be a different ball game altogether.

God bless Mr.Mallya.

IPL continues to be a stupid stuff
by bn yalamalli on Jan 11, 2011 07:11 AM

Firstly the teams were named after places. It was a wrong move. Now please count the Karnataka players in Bangalore team.

Mallyas are over drunk with power that money brings, it seems.Apart from denying to retain the star players of Karnataka, they even did not care to call delivering lads like Pandey of its stable and eying for Rayudu.

Mallyas statement that Kumble was the mentor / selector for RCB seems to be a bluff. Mallya never seems to listen to professionals, like some other IPL franchise owners.

And it is not a civilised manner to do the auction of players in public. After all, during the game they are all on equal terms.Their commercial value should be kept a secret.
