Looks like this one is a copy of the NFL. Funny, we Indians are so good at copying that we now feel progress is all about aping.. and that too the "West".

Yes agreed. fortune for players but not for spectators. With this competitive world, look at students what happens to their studies and these matches played during the prime examination periods.
Undoubtedly all the teams seem to have learnt form past experience and have put together good teams. Two new teams plus six old teams totally purged. That could not have been possible w/o some back channel negotiations for sure.Among the new teams PUNE looks good and KKR has emerged as completely revamped best team. But for KKR it is only half the job done. The more important part of 'delivery' remains to be accomplished and could be the more difficult part depending upon how tha KKR suporters and Dada & co. take to it.The overall teams ranking /strengths starting with the strongest to the weakest appear to be;MI-KKR-CSK-PUNE-KXIP-DC-RCB-DD-KOCHI-RR

9 other teams ignored Ganguly too because they think Ganguly is of "no-use" to them.
Just because Ganguly is from Kolkatta, you want KKR to pick Ganguly and continue putting up pathetic performances like in the previous 3 editions.

Hey Another Critic I am not a Bengali or Kolkatan but have you been watching some other IPL maybe being played in your neighbourhood? For your information Ganguly scored 493 runs in IPL 2010 which was the 3rd highest in the tournament. Agreed he has not been able to take KKR anywhere nears the semis but try to say something sensible. By the way which useless part of India are you from?

If your team ends up at the bottom of points table, then the captain should go. The team need to be revamped. KKR has done the right thing. There is no place of regionalism in sports.

Do you know how may run Ganguly has scored in 2003 world cup (as you are saying because of him India reached in the Final).. Needless comments
IPL is an entertaining cricket ( not a real cricket )what suits to Great SRK.Recently SRK was accused for showing disregard to women in a show in Bangladesh.Ganguly who is icon of Kolkata Cricket is definitely not of that culture. So the reason for ouster is exposed.
