Isn’t IPL a waste of common mans money time and Ind
by balamurali ramachandran on Jan 08, 2011 09:09 PM  | Hide replies

The common man fund the money required and the bollywood stars and other investors in IPL along with rich players take it. A big chunk is going abroad with foreign players. These funds if invested in stock market or other places will benefit the people of India. The effect of IPL is a net flow of money from poor and common man to rich bollywood stars, cricketers and IPL investors. Also a waste of several man hours resulting no net output for Indian GDP

I care a damn if a Yousuf, or Tiwari is sold for 2 million and if a Lara or Ganguly is left unsold in IPL. Can even most of these high priced guys even ever fit into the shoes of these legends ? I dont think one should go by these crazy prices. Just bcos someone got more than Sachin does he become a greater player than him ?

High prices for idiots
by DevD on Jan 08, 2011 08:45 PM  | Hide replies

It is clear that the idiots who run IPL have lots of black money and very little understanding of cricket. Otherwise no one would pay such high prices for jokers like Saurabh Tiwary, Piyush Chawla, Uthappa, Ravindra Jadeja and T20 failures like David Hussey and Pujara. They simply pay high prices for un-talented Indian players so that they can be easily pressurized into fixing matches. I believe this will be difficult with the English players, and that's why they have been ignored. IPL is a sham and a scam...a venue for match-fixing and all kinds of nefarious underworld activities...where druglords like Mallaya and Bollywood stars are involved, you can be sure that darkness and deceit are deeply entrenched.

Stuart Broad, Kevin pieterson, Eoin Morgan and Colling Wood are selected. Are they not from England? Know the facts before commenting. Have you watched the performance of saurab Tiwari in the last IPL. He is a hitter like y.Pathan.T20 demands selection of such people. Do you know how players are fixed? If demand is more from other teams, the prices of player in bidding will be more. If franchisees sees their usefulness they will quote high prices. If another team wants they have to outbid the original franchisee. Like wise price quoted is high depends upon the utility of the players. that is how some times even if the players are not worth the money, the team has to pay to buy them . Without understanding any thing simply you are commenting

David Hussey in the Champions trophy scored heavily against all opposite teams . That is why high price. Pujara recently against Australia scored impressively in the Debut. The franchisees are not fools, they are supported by former Players and coaches. Based on that only they select team. Simply for the sake of crticising them dont blabber

Everyone knows how an auction is conducted. But the prices of un-talented criketers like Saurabh Tiwary, who does not know how to play a front foot drive on the off-side, goes up because many franchisee owners think that they can be easily manipulated to fix matches. This is particularly true for franchisees like B'lore, King Xi and R' Royal who are run by corrupt corporates and filmstars. Some people like you will never learn. And pls do not place any bets on Tiwary...we saw his misrable batting in one ODI...he gets selected because of Dhoni.

My point exactly. Apart from Kevin Pietersen, not a single English player has been selected. And ENGLAND is the WORLD T20 CHAMPION !!!!! What does that mean?? Everyone knows that the ECB is very harsh on match fixers...so only Indian and Australian players are willing to fix matches, which is why franchisees are paying astronomical sums for completely talentless cricketers from these two countries.
