You bet. The 'teenager' tag belongs to Shahid Afridi alone. You are right about Sachin having got to play more deu to BCCI's generosity. If Lara or Steve Waugh had played as much as Sachin they would've had much more runs to their name as well. Ponting and Kallis will be on his tail for a while too, unless BCCI allows ST to play on till he's 50 !!!

True. Only Shahid Afridi has to be referred to as a 'teenager'. As for Sachin, he's very lucky to have a generous BCCI who never dropped him despite poor form in 2003 and 2004. Had Lara and Steve Waugh had similar luck, they would have achieved much more by now. Ponting and Kallis will give Sachin a good run for his...er runs, unless they decide to retire before him. But, in the cricket crazy country like India, Sachin may continue to play till he's 50 yrs old !!!

Sachin is a match saviour
by netizen netwala on Jan 01, 2011 09:36 PM  | Hide replies

Stop calling sachin not a match winner. He has individually made that many runs which the team cannot collectively put together in a single match.
Its like in those matches where he makes records it is like he has decided to save the match. Had it not been for him, the team would have gone into the annals of shame and humiliation losses.

I just hope some sense prevails in Yuvi...he's got a bad attitude (not as bad as ganguly)..I remember how is father (yuvi) showed that attitude when Dhoni became captain..but in attitude Ganguly wins hands down..Ganguly was the worst captain (he won't field)..attitude is aswell as ego..

wht insane people may say, ganguly will always be a better captain than dhoni, he gave the indian team the fighting spirit.
dhoni is a good cricketer but not as talented as ganguly. but dhoni makes it up as he is blessed with a good young team in odi and one of the greatest test batting orders of india in test cricket.

it will be fun to see the performance of dhoni after the likes of sachin and laxman and dravid retire from test cricket.

Dhoni is a lucky chap who got a team well founded by ganguly, much like what ricky pointing inherited from steve waugh.

ricky didnt make the team, he got it,

doni didnt make the team, he got it ready made from ganguly.

Are you crazy? Ganguly transormed Indian cricket. We always had the best players but as a team we lacked assertiveness. Ganguly brought that to India. You forgot him taking his shirt off in England - that was the most defining oment in Indian cricket?

dont post any rubbish just for the sake of posting. ganguly was the 2nd highest runscorer after kaif in that final. he just took the opening bowlers to cleaners. ganguly had a very sharp analytical mind and always supported the match winners.

I am not supporting the views of Lokayat.. Ganguly was not a bad caption of Team India.. His name was maligned by the politics in Team India due to Coach Chappel and Dhoni....
Ganguly is a great fighter... and use to play for India and not to earn money like Dhoni.
Dhoni have no respect to Indian sentiments. He rejected Presidential function and award of Khel Ratna for want of money from adv.. and when the function was going on.. Dhoni was busy in giving poses for his ad...

RKD does not support what i said ?? u mean some sense should not prevail in Yuvi for the coming world cup ?? and Dhoni has the leadership and set example for the team..and he's got grt game plan and he's unorthodox unlike the old cricketing brains including SRT...and Khel ratan and national awards are a farce..

@India

if Yuvi has the quality to "fight back" under adversarial circumstances, he did not show that during IPL 3, when he was playing under Sangakkara. you could see his indifference in his performance. In fact, most of the commentators and newspapers spotted him 'sulking' !!

cheers
