SELECTORS SHOULD INTERFERE WITH PLAYING ELEVEN:
by Srinivasan Renganathan on Feb 28, 2011 08:45 AM

1.      Sewhag
2.      Tendulkar
3.       Gambhir
4.      Kolhi
5.      Pathan
6.  ;     Raina
7.      Dhoni
8.       Harbhajan
9.      Ashwin
10.      Zaheer
11.       Nehra or Munaf.
If Dhoni continues with his politics and includes Yuvraj & Chawla, India will not definitely go past the quarter finals.
Selectors should intervene and show Dhoni his position in the team.

the biggest mistake!
by kumar on Feb 28, 2011 08:44 AM  | Hide replies

Its was the inclusion of piyust chawla in the team a big mistake, it was better to have pragyan ogha or ashwin instead of him. Piyust has not been playing consistently, why he has been picked is still is question mark. Dhoni said piyust is having variety, but i dont see any variety, it is not variety matter, what matters is to have a wicket taking bowler.

Pragyan Ojha is a better bowler than Harbhajhan singh & Chawla. But, due to Dhoni's politics, he is out of the team.

If u say Piyush Chawla is a big mistake, what about Harbajan the brainless guy who is in the team just becoz of politics and influence and no talent.. Ashwin is a better prospect than him.

Definitely Ojha & Aswin make a better combination than Chawla & Harbhajan. But, this is like Government job & only seniority/Nepotism has the final say.

not for once they thought what after kumble. indian spin too seems so pale ... that was traditionally our strongest point... now even our spinners are worser than kenya... thanks to our selection policies which drops players at the drop of the hat. ojha was such a promising lad ...he was kept in and out destroying his confidence completely. I think BCCI members should be held under tight public scrutiny... when their A zz is on fire, they would know what players feel

We don't have a wicket taking bowler except Zaheer Khan.
Harbhajan Singh is only hype.

This Indian Bowling will not take us far
by mohan br on Feb 28, 2011 08:35 AM  | Hide replies

What is the use of having great batting lineup, when the bowlers cannot do their jobs well. This bowling has been exposed. Even Bangladesh has scored more than 270 against us. Just think on a odd day if our batting fails by scoring anything less than 250 runs, we will be out of the WC.
Coming back to yesterday's match, the much-hyped-captain-with-mole-at-the-right-place, Dhoni was clueless on what is to be done, when the England onslaught was going on. The Englishmen gave away the match, instead of our bowlers doing any thing significant with the ball.

Piyush Chawla is a club class bowler, and Harbhajan is lost. Munaf is not incisive, while nothing much can be said of the Yuvraj's and Pathan's bowling prowess. Zaheer alone cannot do wonders.

no good bowling coach is the reason why india finds itself in miserable situations. let us not forget that the same mediocre bowling squad had returned back from a spectacular south africa tour. The problem with our bowling squad is that they try too hard. When they should have kept line and length and waited for english to throw away wickets, our fellows panicked after first few overs and tried hard to get wickets. in that process they bungled even further.

Dhoni as usual is namesake captain. he does nothing to salvage situations ...he expects bowlers to bowl well and batsmen to bat well... so that he can use his loud mouth in press briefings... else he does very little on field to reign in on the tempers and calm nerves of his boys. absolutely no leadership.

the whole world knows indians are panicky lot ....even before world cup they have been talking loudly about bringing back cup... nobody talks the game..they talk results. such is the state of our country where once karma siddhanta was brought out to the world ...now we find ourselves just opposite of what we preach.

India lastly wins the match
by Arshad Siddiqui on Feb 28, 2011 08:28 AM

till 39 over it is expected that India will lose the match badly, it was tough for taking wicket for Indians bowlers, but any how either by luck or by tactic the India get the wickets and save its nose. Any how we can say India wins the match. Many people have to change the Idea that Dhoni team is top ranker. this match proves that Indian team will never be Ausi Team

We had also expected that after putting up 338, India should have won easily. But our bowlers and fielders sucked yesterday and also against Bangladesh.

cool guy,

I have been telling this for weeks that our bowling is too pathetic to win the world cup.

I am surprised how we have been able to maintain Number 1 status in tests.

Our bowling is also the reason why most teams don't deem us as actual threats. they know that all that they need to do is to get 2-3 key wickets and we lack the teeth to beat their batsmen
