And such a blinder was worth the wait. It can be said for Shri as well as the article. The language and composition is superb. I was a Shri fan all along and now I am yours too Sir.

absolutely.. that square drive is probably the shot of the world cup... much like sachin's 6 off shoaib akthar..
He was th one who made India a "Force to reckon with" in those days with his batting skills. The ease with which he hit sixes of pace bowlers like Waksh,Ambrose,Peterson,Reid,Mcdermott,Akram etc. was a treat to watch. He was a class of his own. He was the one who came very near to overtake Des.Hynes record of the highest century getter in One dayers those days. Maybe Srikkanth got out in the 90s some 5-6 times,80-90 another 4-5 times & 70-80 maybe 8-10 times. If he has converted these scores into 100 atleast 4/5 times he would have come nearer to Des.Hynes. Another amazing record he holded those days was whenever he scored a 50 plus, India wins the match. that was his achievement. He clobbered all those fast bowlers in those days.He was a legend but of a different class.

he played selfish-less cricket! unlike someone who keeps eating up 10-20 balls to hit those 2 runs.

Not to forget that he was the guy who started hitting over the bowlers head in the first 10 overs when the 30 yards rule was introduced in the WCC in 1984
India will no doubt be the sole target of Pakistan's 100 plus nukes( 4 th largest stock in world) , mainly because India under Congress is unprepared for a first strike by policy. India's PM's total arrogance thinking India can withstand a Pakistani first strike of 100 plus nukes and counterattack after loosing crores and crores of lives will undoubtedly seal its fate.
The Law of Karma will say " as you sow so shalll ye reap" - that for Pak those who live by bullet will die by it and similarly for India those who sleep through fatal danger signals will die of ill fated ignorance.
Histories are written only by those who conquer and Darwinian logic will never fail here.

correct.. but he was amongst the earliest to show how the game should be entertaining and should bring in crowds.. the likes of him, Mark Greatbatch and now the Sehwags & Brendon Mccullums are the ones the crowd pays to watch.. not the Barringtons and Chris Tavare's...
