Yeah I think Sachin will play an important part in this WC. He has an advantage of being an opener in these conditions.

But it is more difficult to bat at No. 5 in these conditions where Dhoni bats
Old ball, rough pitch, field outside the circle etc.

there are both plus and minus points of playing down the order

even opening pair have to face the bounce and will be under pressure to score more within 10 overs

Two sixes hit by Harbhajan against SA is more difficult to score two sixes in First 10 overs.
Kanitkars 4 against Pak in Dhaka is still in every cricket lovers mind

Sachin will be opening innings that to on subcontinent pitches, so ultimately he has an advantage to bat for longer time

There are many others like Amla, Gambhir, Watson, AB, Kohli etc who are much stronger contenders to dominate in this WC.

The real matches start from QF.
If a player dominate two matches like Inzamam played in 1992, he will be the star of WC

now sachin takes more time to settle down
its veeru who is taking all the risk in power play ovs

u cant waste deliveries in power play

sachin should be more aggressive in power play ovs

Sachin should try to play till 45th over, so that other attacking players like Veeru, Kohli, Yuvi, Dhoni & Yusuf can do there job. Most importantly if Sachin plays defencive game, still his run rate will be over 100.

With just 3 fielders outside the 30 yard circle in power play overs, Sehwag & Sachin should attack from the first ball.

No Pressure
by Abhijit on Feb 17, 2011 10:44 AM  | Hide replies

If the result of the match is decisive, then our players natural instinct will not be there.
If it is a practice match, we are the best.

In the last one dayer in SA, a win would have given a series victory, we played poor cricket.

So these practice matches form is not important to rejoice about our teams strength.

You are right. 2-3 is much better than 0-5. which is what it could have been if only South Africa had showed proper dedication in the other matches as they showed in the final one... :)

Very good result or not without Sachin & Sehwag, but we could have won that match.
Even if Sachin & Sehwag in the team, the result would have been same
2 great wins, and a loss in decider

S.Ganguly suggested Dhoni to go with 3 seamers in Bangladesh. In India he can go with 2 soinners.

3 seamers best option, because we have 2 partime spinners in Yusuf & Yuvraj.
All these calculation will go wrong if the selected bowler err in line and length on that particular day
