I am proud of being...
by shahzibgul2000@rediffmail.com on Feb 17, 2011 02:48 PM

I am proud of being a part of generation which is watching this genius in action. He is simply class apart ! The entire sub-continent should be proud of this man's achievements ! But have one complain: when he first came on scene, he was very good puller and hooker of the ball which helped him playing well on his first tour of Australia in 1991-92, But for the last 12 years , he has not been playing this elegant shot....

From Lahore,
Pakistan

All shld play well...

If Shwag gives a good start (has to stand for atleast 10 overs and score well) and other shld score a decent runs, Dhoni must be 6th or 7th down, then there is a chance for India to win this WC.

Sachin single handedly bring the world cup home, but ICC will file a Theft case. :)
For non-dreamers, it is all about the best Team performance, not collective Individual performances. Sachin or No Sachin, best team always wins the World Cup.

By your definition even Team India CANNOT win the World Cup. Remember 2007? :)

Tendu Jhooth:

Rightly said. . But I must point out that BCCI would have done better to give him a much stronger team....

Dhoni as the non-playing captain will get 11 fully performing players and substantially increase the chances to win the WC.... What say? :)

Hello Against Pseudos,
Nice writing to you after a long time.
Captaincy is a huge responsibility and a skill which has to be refined by learning I feel. How good a captain is also reflects a lot on the team's performance and NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. The Captain is known by his team and not vice versa. So merely stating just because someone was lucky to have a good teams would be very very unfair. I am not exactly a Sourav Ganguly fan, but he was one of the most successful and inspiring captains in India's cricketing history. I feel he was a great captain and a success believer. In fact it was under his captaincy that we started winning overseas and I don’t think we gave him a fair deal.SRT also had a very good team as captain but wasn't as successful (correct me if I am wrong). Why? Not everyone can become a great captain. One needs leadership skills and the ability to take sound decisions and Dhoni also has it in him in abundance.

yeah for tendu fans, it is a team game only when tendu is failing, which is under pressure. Otherwise it is a single handed victory for tendu always. But the pretense of logic while using the usual excuses .. immaculate.

I agree lately he has been in great batting form but all batsmen go through that phase. Isn't it?
As far as SRT has said, the World Cup is above one single personality. Cricket has always been a team game although it has been immortalised by many individual performances. I want all our players to do well. This doesn't take anything away from SRT's greatness as the world's best batsman. He is the best we have - let us accept it. We've to realise - all this pressure that the media is creating in the form of hype is actually creating a lot of pressure on the players - DAY BY DAY.
I appreciate your opinion. Would like to have your and other readers views on this.

tendla fans has in them
by tendusach on Feb 16, 2011 01:39 AM  | Hide replies

Inspired with what ordinary folks can achieve if they stick together for a common cause, fans of Sachin Tendulkar have decided to speak out against those dictatorial umpires, who rule the little master out showing utter disregard for popular sentiments and beliefs. Tendulkar fans have already started collaborating on social networking websites and are all set to break into Egypt like protests the moment an umpire rules Sachin out.

Well said.... But at least he makes SOME runs before being ruled out, so the riots will be expectedly much lower in intensity than the ones which will break out after Dhoni is given out... :)

hehe. They would have reasons ready for chokes. Of coz blaming dhoni is the first on the list. Or an injury or lack of match practice. The usual. Funny how facades come down. :)
