You cannot talk of World Cup when the number of countries participating is just 14. Of the 14, five - Kenya, Netherlands, Ireland,Zimbabwe and Canada - just make up the numbers. Out of the remaining 9, Bangladesh (in spite of win against India in the last World Cup) is not a serious contender and cricket in West Indies and Newzealand is in terminal decline. Thus, we have just 6 nations playing cricket with some sort of seriousness (in India the seriousness involved is because of the money that flows into it) and it will be better to call it the `6-Nation Cup'. The media hype in India for this 6-Nation Cup is sickening, to say the least!

u get lost first...forum is a platform to discuss views of each other not to tell others something which u dont like...
its fine if u like the game but u have to take others views in a sporting manner

Perfect and you said what I have been yelling for so long. To add further in other nations also 10 players out of 11 are of Indian or Pakistani origin and it shows that we are only fit to play games that does not involve any power, stamina stability etc.

fully agree with you .... how many countries in the world know that ICC Cricket is being held from Feb 19th to Apr 2nd.... My guess atleast 170 countries dont bother to know and include it in their sports news !!!!

on the contrary India media will cover football better than their western counterparts...
if we check the online editions of all the leading newspapers apart of these 8-10 nations no other national newspaper will have even a short of just a mention of cricket..just check it out

what is there to feel so much sickenend... unless you like being sick. If you are not interested , do not see it, do not feel it. In Andamans people do not see cricket.

Mr.Niranjan: The last two months you open the sports page of newspapers - 4 pages devoted to the rotten game of cricket and nothing about other sports. You go to any news channel, cricket, cricket and more cricket. Probably you watch cricket because you are sick and like the sick game and the sick coverage!!!

A stadium in Mumbai , where no match has been played earlier, has been allotted a match this time, but the match scheduled to be held in Kolkata, known for its love for cricket, has been taken away, Dev lamented.( most foolish statement )

We all know how you managed ICL stadiums and where the matches were played.

A stadium in Mumbai , where no match has been played earlier, has been allotted a match this time ?

Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai ?
Kapil you have played 11 tests and 4 ODI on that stadium. Don't play politics.

Luckily you have won one world cup that does not mean you can talk any thing.

Here is some one who is trying to GET NOTICED by talking rubbish on cricket,
if he says same in india in public, he will be stoned for trying to spoil the party, subcontinent ppl love cricket more than any other sports, so even if world sleeps we will still be left with 4-5 good teams, enough for our entertainment. we cannot forcibly create interest in some different sport becuase of its diverse nature, or just becuz it is played by many nations.

Don't speak like a Frog in the well, it is a well known fact that it is only famous in the sub-continent and Cricket not being a power game is a game played by women with bangles.

revide 50 overs in two innings
by jess on Feb 14, 2011 11:02 AM

even one day cricket of 50 overs can be made more exciting if there are two innings per side. in one innings one can get out easily. the real test of talent is not there ..make more rules to make the whole thing excitng. T20 is fluke, total fluke.
