India won 83 world cup when no one expected to do so. The team was new at that time. Now you see India won the T20 world cup in similar conditions ..... main reason there were not too much expectaion no pressure so they played there natural game and gave their best.

I think India's players are talking too much
Now Gambhir spoke

They are creating pressure on themselves by doing this not the people

Otherwise for the next 4 years again media keep discussing about 1983 !.. They start analyzing ball by ball and have interviews of each bowler/batsman of what was going on in their mind at that time.. Bored of this !

Hope they win this time and not keep discussing about 1983 for another 50 years !

I doubt if you were born or knew about cricket in 1983. And under what circumstances India won the World Cup. It took an superhuman & inspirational performance from the captain to put India back on track. Tell me, how many teams have won the game after being 4 wickets down for just 9 runs & 5 wickets down for just 17 runs? Tell me how many fielders will take a well judged calculated catch in the finls when the team is getting assaulted by the most destructive batsman then? tell me how many teams can defend a paltry score of 183 in the finals? A strong team is always expected to beat the less strong team. Only rarely in life does the opposite holds true. And 1983 win was nothing short of a fairy tale. I witnessed the match live in 1983. And I just cannot describe the feeling in words how I felt when India won. 1983 will & should be discussed for next 5000 years!! Its an inspirational happening.

Well Said.
I am just 4 years old at that time. I thought it was a diwali day and asked for crackers from my dad.
Really sweet memories.

Rightly said Guys! 83 world cup win was not a fairytale. We won against England in England and also against WI in the round 1 match. Surely it was a monumental win that can be cherished forever. For underdogs to super heroes!!
