ok ...all u nutcrackers....here's the deal....yusuf pathan has already won india more matches from the dead...than sachin has in his entire career....so let the guy breathe...self belief is good....remember mohammad ali calling himself the greatest....no one complained then....so stop cribbing and try achieving something quarter of what he has already achieved in his life.....freakshows....mortal cricketers / sportsman can only dream about being rockstars in their sport....he is one......

Blatant arrogance!
by nisha thoas on Feb 10, 2011 07:10 PM  | Hide replies

I think a classic case where success goes into the head of someone after just one good season. Hes a star all right, but to say that he can win matches irrespective of the status reeks of arrogance and over estimation of ones capabilities. He should learn from legends like tendulkar and laxman, who do their talking on their field, and not to the media. We have seen so many cases in indian cricket, where stars, after a good match or two, suddenly become poster boys for the media, and they believe in their own hype,and lose their way and becomes lost to Indian cricket. Hoep he realises that, sooner than later!

Dear Nishu, just read the questions and their answer dont go by heading; I dont think he is showing arrogancy; he is confident; however he is also media shy and if u read it then you will how media putting word into his mouth;
and secondly i m sure he has given interview in hindi and media translated to english putting a lot of flavors to hype before the world cup;

spot on....

but i feel thats the only way he can perform...and as of now his place is secured in the team ONLY for powerhitting - which begins with believing that he could win from A situation....

but his tone reminds me of sehwag - who announced in australia (i think in 2002-03) that he was the best only to be dropped in 2006-07, he was carried around by captain DRAVID as a favour to his ex deputy...

moral of the story----
pathan bhai by gods grace you still share a dressing room with sachin, which gives u a chance to learn from legends like sachin, (and dravid, laxman, KUMBLE)

Yusuf- You are the champion!!! - The badshah of Cricket!!
by syedatjannat on Feb 10, 2011 03:54 PM  | Hide replies

I always believe in you that you are a real hero. Given a chance to open a innings or at no:3 can become another Sachin!!!!. But the selfish Dhoni is not making this happen.

The only way India can get the world cup is by sending Pathan before Dhoni and Yuvaraj and ask them to support him instead of depending on Harbhajan, Zaheer to support Pathan.

If Dhoni comes out from his selfishness and opt for the above solution, then INDIA will win the world cup convincingly. The same would have happend if Dhoni did this in South africa tour!!!

My Statistics, Sachin,sehwag can win some of the matches in world cup for sure, but what if they fail and score to chase is around 340 runs?? according to current situation, the players Yuvaraj,Raina and Dhoni are not in form, if they waste balls and made individual 30-40 runs and get out..(thats what happening currently) and it gives immense pressure on Yusuf and still some 130 runs to get with support from harbhajan and zaheer. There is a bigger chance of losing the game if Pathan fails (however his success ratio is atleast 8/10 according to me).

So please please Dhoni, dont use your brain and make this happen. We just want WORLD CUP!!!

worth considering...
but imagine pressure on dhoni...if he does this and back fires, then the whole india will curse him for juggling the SET ORDER..

The headline is not the exact words as said by Pathan, it sounds arrogant and shows him in a bad light. Please change the headline to reflect the interview more appropriately.

Going by the post match interviews of Mr. Yusuf Pathan. I do not think he speaks such fluent English or provide views as written above..most of statements appear cooked up by reporters...for TRP...
