Guys, a lot of people are comparing the present team with 83 team, honestly the 83 team was not the best team in the world. It was just that things clicked and team played very well during critical matches. Soon they returned from England WI toured India and the way they annihilated our team was terrifying. Atleast no team in this world can similarly decimate India now. We have a great team and definately has the capabilities to WIN but it all depends on some luck and form. All the Best

true, except for very exception conditions, such predictions are meaningless.
In 79 and 83, Windies were leading favourites for the way they had performed in 75 WC and also in the intervening period. But from the beginning of 87 WC, people have been making foolish predictions more based on emotions rather than any logic. 87, 92, 96, 99 the winners were all unfancied. 2003 and 2007 was easier to predict since Australia was unquestionable. But this time there is no clear winner. Lets see who keeps up the pressure and holds their breathe through.
guys, just imagine (till 1983) player performance and just replace today's palyer with them and see the difference. I repeat once again that we have to compare 1983 wcteam performance till that day only when they lift world cup
i sincerely having only one question in my mind...how can being an indian citizen u all can criticize indian team, when they r consistently playing gd cricket since last 3 yrs..except final 2 one dayers in sa.. And on the other hand u all r started saying since last few days that australia will win this wc, when they r declining since last 3 yrs. In my opinion those who r saying india will nt win wc-2011 needs 2 understand that like ur buddies n children, our players also needs encouragement..as a nation we all need 2 back our players n motivate them 2 win wc. This indian team have potential 2 win wc-2011, forms of yuvi, raina, dhoni n our bowlers well b critical. From nw on forget criticism and them whole heartedly..ty

To Pathak.. no 100% correct, Indian team's form has been deteriorating but Australia, Pakisthan, Srilanka are playing well in their recent matches, they are getting their form back in right time. Of course Indian team has potential to win the world cup.. but be ware of Australia, Srilanka and Pakisthan...

If u are backing medicore & useless player like dhoni, raina, yuvi etc then u are a politically motivated & biased regional fan as non of them are match winner. All of them are in team due to dhoni politics. Offcourse yuvi & dhoni atleast better than useless dhoni. Uselss politicina dhoni had never been a match winner in entire life. Only true match winners in team are Sachin, sehwag,yusuf & Zaheer. If they click India have some chance.

These players themselves know that they will not win the world cup. do you think they care for the country. bull shit. each payer/selector is only thinking how to make money which in this case should not be the whole motive. remove the selectors first. It is funny that BCCI is being ruled by politicians who themselves do not know the abc of cricket. remove the BCCI first and let us not have an eyewash in the name of elections.

To reply mr.Mukherji, True that Cricketers are making a lot of money but again they have to perform in order to keep on making money, a lot of compitition is there. It is the survival of the fittest. I do not care about the administrators but I firmly believe those who played the game should only run the game.

All Players are making money based on hardwork, talent & performance. Only exception is useless dhoni who dosen't have these qualities but good in manipulation, politics & luck

Mr.Srikanth seems very optimistic optimistic about India's victory but India is underdog. Srilanka is a team who is physically fit and their diehard attitude. Like any Indian I will be extremely happy if it happens but our team is physically unfit and will face tremendous pressure to play before own crowd. Please spare Sachin as he has given his to this cricket crazy nation. Too much money through endorsement makes each player rich and who cares if we don't win world cup !! Alok Bhattacharya.

No Comparison Sehwag is much better than Srikant Sachin is well well ahead from Gavaskar Zaheer is better bowler than Madan but in batting reverse Kapil is well ahead from all current players You can't compare
