this is the best time to prove yourself. do it for the sake of our motherland. we have always topped in test cricket from the times of kapil dev. we, the indians will be very happy if our indian team can retain its position. good luck indian team.
A very good start to the series. India must really fancy their chances in this test. Forget about Sachin's 100 centuries, he will get it sometime or the other, but this poses a good opportunity for India to win a series down under.
Instead of appreciating the great batting from Indian batsmen in general and in particular Sachin and Viru, the headline says Sachin missed the ton. Sachin's popularity and greatness was visible when the whole Melbourne crowd irrespective of the team they support rose to give him a standing ovation when he came into bat and also when he got out. This speaks volumes of his greatness and popularity. Siddle and Pattinson were bowling magnificiently at serious pace of 150kph. They troubled Dravid a lot but Sachin was in total command. Any lesser batsmen would not have survived such a torrid spell. Except for the 2 deliveries before tea where Sachin inside edged, he looked in total command. Some of his strokes will be etched in memory for a long time, his exquisite on drive off the back foot and a cover drive earlier, plus the upper cuts. To his credit Dravid too played a gem, inspite of being beaten so many times by Pattinson and Siddle he just hung on and also played some great strokes. Viru played the strokes which only he could, despite being let off 2-3 times he did not let that affect his batting. I hope the rest of the batsmen continue the good batting on 3rd day.

yes 3rd day is going to be very important if India is going to win this game. Dravid, Sehwag, Sachin all played well. wish them goodluck for the complete tournament.

Absolutely true. It was a visual treat to watch sachin's innings; it appeared as if he was playing on a different pitch and Dravid on a different track!! Having said that I still agree Dravid is "the wall", the ever resilient.
I wonder where the idiot Sunil Vaidya is hiding now, hope not behind a saree... :-)

Well said Chappathi, what an innings by Sachin & Dravid! This is where experience counts. The ever despicable, least respectable Sunil Rogi (not Vaidya) will claim that it was a flat track. Forget about dogs like him :)

BhikariBambu, from when did u start praising Sachin? Are you in your senses?

You are vulnerable, not invincible. I am in my senses unlike you. When someone plays well, I praise them. When Sachin did not play well, I cursed him. He played well, I praised him. But all my curses will be for a fake person called Sunil Vaidya because he claims that everyone in the team play well because of Dhoni.

That's was a great delivery from Siddle that swung in sharply and rattled master's stumps. Siddle also bowled Dravid few minutes earlier and was fuming in.
No problem when you get out on a great delivery from a bowler who is bowling with good rhythm and pace. The key is Sachin is getting 70s, 80s, 90s consistently without any fuss. I am also happy that Dada said Sachin has at least 2 more years of cricket left.
To me, Gambhir seems to be the problem; he lost his form after the WC.

Sschin getting 70s, 80s and 90s without any fuss? When has that happened?
WHEN SACHIN HITS CENTURY OF CENTURY THE PRESS , BOARD AND PUBLIC WILL ASK WHY SACHIN IS NOT RETIRING NOW THAT HE HAS CREATED ALL RECORDS AND GIVE CHANCE TO YOUNGSTER
I do not care when Sacchin gets his century of centuries. His display of batting today was a lesson to all who doubt his cricketing skills. After tea, he showed his dominance over the bowlers with some classy batting. I have seen at other occassions Dravid, laxman and Veeru toying with opposition bowlers too. Feel fortunate to be able to watch such quality batsmen playing together.

Good joke. First of all, another batsman should even come close to scoring 100 centuries. Punter is at 69, Kallis is at 57...ha ha ha.
