The highest civilian award include "sports";

Does that include running race?

It also is included to have "Exceptional performance in all human endeavour";

What about giving the Ratna to a Rickshaw,
who pulls a record R10,000, per single day?

hehe

The mind of M S Dhoni:

I think the secret behind the mind of Indias greatest cricket captain is that he has hardly any use of it! A mind which unnecessarily interposes itself between the soul and the body, a mind which distracts, a mind which wants to win, wants revenge, wants to create records for himself or the team, a mind which wants to be in the forefront at the time of victory celebrations. He has no use of this mind. Rather, he is mostly a soul and a body in perfect unison- just flowing. Just wanting to play well and enjoy the game- whatever the result. Wanting to learn from mistakes, each game a test game, not the final game. Equally at ease in victory or defeat, praise or criticism- almost a yogi on the field.

I think he is Indias proper answer to the almost childish cry of \'killer\' instinct that goes up in the air whenever India loses. He teaches the youth by example, not to worry too much about the result, just play well and enjoy the game. If you win that is fine, if you lose that is fine too. Being almost always in spirit he inspires!! Not only the followers of the game but the game of life!

The secret behind the mind of India's present captain is that he has hardly any.....!
He teaches the citizens of India not to worry too much about the result. If you win, that is fine. If you lose, there are always excuses & players to take the blame.

Perhaps you want to say that he doesnt have an abstract mind- rather than saying he doesn't have a mind!
Generations of Indian players ( and Indian in general) have worried about the abstract while forgetting about the basic decisions and situation on the ground. This is where Dhoni succeeds where others failed.

Thinking of the future and making backup plans is important
by Nikhil Shah on Dec 18, 2011 02:03 AM  | Hide replies

You cannot live for the moment because of last minute injuries replacements and proper planning for the future is important. Let us take in case of the England tour. India's attack and the top order batting was depleted.

Instead of investing too much on Praveen Kumar with the new ball, there were several new ball bowlers that he neglected and kept them out. Yadav in the SA tour, Aaron in England and now Sudhindra neglected by the selectors for the Australian tour.

Dhoni's inspiration is BCCI which also lives in the moment and makes only short term goals. He teaches the citizens of India not to worry too much about the result. If you win, that is fine. If you lose, there are always excuses & players to take the blame.
