How about our very own Amarnath brothers? Surinder Amarnath and Mohinder Amarnath played for India in the late 70s and early 80s.

In ODIs

When we talk match winning knock (Only centuries)with consideration of 10 100s at least scored by a player, then no one can come close to Sehwag's feat.

Out of his 15 100s, 14 times India won. Winning percentage is 93.33%..which is much ahead of any player in history for India.

And, most disgraceful player for India in ODI is Gavaskar who played entire 60 overs in first WC in England scored only 36 runs..

In the defence of sunil Gavaskar

Allright he was a slow scoring batsman
But then in those days India never had a watch winning bowling attack. So therefore We usually lost or go for the draw and that is where Sunil Gavaskar innings used to come in handy

Mr Indian, do u know abt that match? In 60 overs, Eng scored 300 plus runs, and disgrace fellow batted entire 60 overs with scoring just 36 runs. What kind of innings that was to come in as"Handy"..

Next game he was dropped. He was big failure in ODIs..thats the fact..

There is a reason why he played that way. Please dont comment without knowing fact. Gavaskar made one of the best one day hundred against Newzeland. He played many useful innings in Onedayers and he was one of the best player for running between the wickets. He got man of the match for fielding in a match against Pakistan.

In the first few years of Gavaskar the trend for other batsmen was to Follow Gavaskar once he is out. Gavaskar knew Indian team was not that great to win the matches and thats and much rests on him to save the team. He sacrificed many shots to keep going and save India. If you want to know about his match winning innings you can check the statistics. To name a few, he played well in the match when India chased 400 in the 4th inninigs against WI in WI. His innings of 221 in Oval almost won the match if any other apart from Vengsarkat provided him support. His innings in Bangalore test against Pakistan remains to be one of the all time best but no other provided support to him. Playing fast with no goal is not treated as excellent. Sehwag is an example who just plays without looking at conditions or goals of the team. It is accidental if we win when Sehwag plays. He is just for entertainment and not winning.
