Ultimate goal ?!

If only reaching Test cricket is Vinay Kumar's ultimate goal, then he won't go far in his career. His goal should be excelling in Test cricket.

Both can be good in domestic cricket but you need to be really quick to do well abroad. Irfan and Sreesanth are anyday better than the above.

Who cares for Test Cricket any way? Not fans&sponsors! It is time to BAN Boring and time-wasting and poverty-producing Test cricket, ranji, duleep trophy cricket forever and hope spectators and sponsors will DUMP test Cricket forever soon, to save our country too. So many millions of man or woman hours have been wasted over the past 50 years in name of cricket and that is why we are a POOR Nation even now, Only One day cricket, with 50 or ver or 30 over or 20 over matches must be allowed to be played and ONLY on wek-ends or holidays, to save the nation from poverty forever

I am againt over doze of Cricket and IPL like of things are unwanted. Test Cricket, it keeps on rotating between the various teams, and let us leave it to the players for themselves as their profession and need not have to devote time to watch tests throughout, unless there is some thing really interesting happens during the course of the match. All Countries have some kind of sport as their favourite and for India it is Cricket.

Successor of Venktesh Prasad
by silver mani on Dec 10, 2011 10:19 AM  | Hide replies

A true Spinner who is the Successor of great Spinner of All time -Venktesh Prasad.I still remember Javed Miandad,Former Coach of PCB once stated that-"If its in Pakistan,no one would select Venktesh Prasad in the gully (nukkad or Street) Cricket Team but Ironically this guy is the opening bowler of India."

Miandad was a street fighter in Pakistan before he played cricket for the Country. He must know who is getting success in Pakistan now in Test Cricket. It is Azmal and not Gul who is playing important part. Keeping so many pace bowlers in the team Pakistan still lying very much below in test match ranking whereas India is 2nd best in the World. If bowlers like Venkatesh Prasad and Vinay are bringing victory to their team by their bowling why you worry about Miandad's remarks?

y u r taking miandad's remark so near to heart miandas was a batsman who we know only b'coz of that six which was sponsored by our gr8 fast bowler chetan sharma venkatesh had won us bangalore match which still pakistani remember in bad test he got out sohail, inzamam and ijaz in 1999 against pakistan in world cup he was man of the match he played a gr8 role in india's atleast 2 or 3 test vicotories and in 10-12 one dayers so don't take that miandad's remark very heartly we all know their skills r always below par but they don't have any sportsmanspirit best example was 1999 kolkata test when they got sachin run out by pushing him

Abhay Singh i am an Indian and I dont care about Javed Miandad. But what reality is reality,Miandad has orchasterated many Indian defeats from the jaws of victory many times.Venktesh was an average bowler with pace equivalent to Spinners.Dude even Chetan Sharma is the first Indian to take Hattrick, but we all know how worthy he was.

Silver Man.. in that case do you think that the selectors are of substand to select Prasad in the team for so long. Anyway he played his part at that time, where India did't found replacement for him. In that way Prasad is very lucky, but do you know specialy against Pak in World cup matches he was very brutal.

I appreciate your love for Irfan. But if you see Vinaykumar's performance in domestic cricket he was in top three bowlers ranking through out whereas Irfan has shown performance in only three matches in this year. The selectors know much about cricket than you and me and they study records. Do not criticise them saying politics etc. You have seen how Irfan bowled when he was given the opportunity when he played last for India.
