i feel consistency is more important than one heroic big inning....team need a faithful batsman who score average 40-60 runs in most of innings not like 4-5 innings below 10 and one inning above 200....not going to help to win more matches for india....i feel virat kohli and rohit sharma are better than sehwag for team india.... comments pls....

sehwag is more consistent in test than in ODI. his ODI average is only 32!. where as test is almost 53 !

same people were against sehwag when we was getting out for cheap in last 5-6 innings....now after a big inning he again became hero......we forgot that it was Kohli and Rohit's efforts to make india win in earlier games....
1. Viru has got 2 triple and 3rd almost. Sachin is no where near triple. 2. Viru has highest number of consecutive 100 converted to 150s in test. 3. strike rate is far superior than sachin. the area where sachin scores is consistency, longetivity and reliability.

For how many says u r watching sachin bat?? may be for last 7-8 years or so......that's why u r commenting on the strike rates and all. Sachin is the only batsman may be after VIV who literally murdered the bowler by playing only cricketing shots throughout the early and mid 90s. After that surely he has slowed down which at the same time made him more reliable as u rightly said. Sehwag is also an once in a life time cricketer who has the ability to become a legend by his own terms. The word 'clone' was used only because the former has transfer the baton to the latter. That's all.

had dhoni not played in the match where sachin scored his double century, sachin would have made 250 but dhoni was resisting sachin from making 200

1) yeah true Sachin would have easliy crossed 250 mark, since he was left stranded on 197 for almost 4 four overs!!! 2) Sachin's 200 came against best team, best bowling & the best fielding side.
It is very good to see Viru breaking the record of Sachin! They are one of the best openers we can boast of! It would be very satisfying to see more Indians in the highest run scorers.
Sehwag is not at all a clone of Tendulkar. Both have different Techniques. Tendulkar is Orthodox, copy book style batsman. Sehwag is completely unorthodox. There are sea of difference between them. Though success rate of high for sehwag , without any foot work or worthwile techniques. We have to appreciate more than Tendulkar. Tendulkar is playing as per Manuals of cricket, no wonder he is that much successful. Whereas Sehwag is clearly a care free style cricketer, Since his techniques are not fundamental , it is amazing how is able to get this much success. So Sehwag is amazing, we have to praise him more than Tendulkar

the very first time Viru and SRT got that big partnership in SA we all cud see the similarity in stature. Even Sachin's wife mentioned they both look alike on TV. Now that we have seen so much of Viru we know the diff

You are right the time he started playing and it was difficult to recognise who hit the shot as they looked same with helmets

Well said. Though Sehwag started off as a Sachin clone, he made a mark for himself. Both are good in their own capacity.
