No!! He deserves to quit..please we all Indians are obsessed with numbers an not the team... We are trashed 4-0 and mishra today played better than tendulkar so please stop this...
Sanjay,Ganguly are so jeolous of Sachin progress that if one hears their commentary it clear indicates that they want him to get out as soon as possible without scoring a hundred etc

In one instance, Ganguly was talking about how to get Sachin out instead of not talking like that in the interest of nation victory. Same thing for Sanjay Manjrekar. This guy in multiple instances conveyed how to target Sachin with lbw dismissals. Pathetic people in cricket india who never tolerate the success of other people in the interest of nation success.

So Sachin did not score because these two were not talking positively... Is it? What a comedy? After getting 8 innings chances, still he could not score. May be because Ganguly and Sanjay are not paid by BCCI to talk good of sachin irrespective of however sachin plays. anyways harsha, ravishastri are paid enough by bcci and they are talking good of him at all such situations.

Yes he has to rectify it ASAP as he has just started his career and their are good 10-15 years ahead for him .by the way he is just 18 at the moment.

well said silver...we shall witness his 150th century in another 10years..and india lingering at the bottom of test rankings
With the results from this series, one cannot underestimate the importance of a strong opening pair. Without it, the Indian team looked like the team of the 90s where a top order collapse with a poor pace attack.
As Gary Kirsten mentioned, the bowling had a work around, but that was until our top order started to collapse more frequently and middle order could not hold on to 14 failures in 7 Test matches in WI and England.
When the top order fires intermittently, we can draw a few matches until we get the attack in order and get a few practices matches in our belt.
In the absence of a top order, the middle order is under pressure and with not enough runs on the board we get in trouble.
Let us hope Sehwag and Gambhir are firing more frequently with lesser injuries. Maybe Gambhir can play at a different position where he is less likely to get injured.

india has played 37 test matches & got 117 points, england also has played 37 matches & has 125 points, whereas south africa(saf) has played 21 matches & accumulated 118 points to be ranked 2nd. this method of ranking is faulty, look at saf 21 matches & 118 points, had they played similarly 37 matches they would have accumulated 200 points. for me saf is the number one test side.

On the other hand you are merely speculating. If only they had played a few more we would have known, they didn't so we can't say whether the ranking system is faulty or not

not correct always. do not take into account the alst 4 matches, and India's points increases ;)
the hawke's eye clearly showed that the ball would have hit the leg stump, & thus umpire rod tucker's lbw decision was correct. tendulkar always shows his displeasure whenever he gets going, & he was dying to get his 100,& i am sure he would have thrown his wicket away after achieving his personal feat-damn the team..sachin conveniently forgot that he was given not out stumped @ 34 yesterday, today twice he escaped lbw when hawke's eye showed he was out.infact he was lucky to get to 91, had the umpires not erred he would have gone for one-third of 91 runs.as wasim, saurav, nasir said mishra looked & played more confidently than sachin.

Ahuja:
a) Tendulkar didn't show his displeasure, so I dunno what's your "always shows his displeasure" business
b) If you are sure he would have thrown his wicket away that's your "surety". BTW, any idea why he "threw" his wicket away before reaching the hundred he was dying to get?
c) Sachin was given notout yesterday? :) Without England appealing? Nice one!!! If he was lucky to get to 91, obviously India was lucky to get additional 91 runs on board.... whereas you were "sure" that he would have thrown his wicket away after getting to 100.... which would have been a catastrophe compared to his being out within 10... right? :)
d) Mishra did play well. But that doesn't give you any right to let loose on Tendulkar. If someone used Mishra's innings to comment on Dravid or Laxman - suggesting that they needed to learn how to bat from Mishra, I'd be interested to see YOUR comments in retaliation... :)
Re: Tendulkar misses his 100th ton yet again
by Anthony Raj on Aug 23, 2011 01:59 PM
If he had aimed for drawing the match, well he could have got century on the way easily. But he was so keen to get his shameful 100th ton and got struck in front .. a plumb to the naked eye.
once a old wise man said to move forward or high in life we have to move 2 steps backward...
so its common sense that we have moved 2 points down in ranking..an india is perhaps aiming consistently high..or to be in top postion for next 10 yrs..

Good point. Australia are already ahead of us in that planning. :-)
