culprit sachin
by Mahesh Margam on Aug 21, 2011 08:09 AM  | Hide replies

sachin will not score his century here even if he could.... he knows ppl will see this test series as bad dream and will forget it... him scoring a century will not be remembered... but the cunning culprit wants fame and money... he'll score in the next series when India is doing well... that ways there will be more interest from the people, media, sponsors, ipl franchises... he'll make atleast 5 times more fame and money than what he would make if he scores a 100 here... the some id10ot guys will recommend barat ratna for him as he scored all the 100 centuries for the nation and nothing for himself... his selfless act of scoring 100 in losing matches shud be honored and the country must give him tax free exemption for his life... and include his son in the team without any questions when he retires after 2015 world cup....

shame on this guy and his shameless suporters who claim he played for this country... he just played for himself and his sponsors... he is not the true hero of this country... the jawans and the military persons are... like you and me working for someone, he works for a company called bcci... that's all....

if he is the country's hero, than everyone who works in this country is a hero and he is one amongst you and me....

to say, Sachin has kept indian cricket on live till we got T20 world cup. See other countries like, pakistan, NZ, Zim & great west indies are no where now.

OZ was in name since they were doing well - agreed. Eng - since they were inverter of cricket and always dominating as white, they are still in cricket(agree they are good now). After 1983 still today, Indian cricket is still live since we have sincere players like, sachin and dravid. No luck favours sachin, other than his hard work.

Freedom of speech is ok. But speaking irrelevant is ....

4-0 black wash is really disappointing from India.
by Another Critic on Aug 21, 2011 07:39 AM

Accepted India does not have a decent bowling attack; India could not even draw a test with its famed batting line-up? Can't our famed twenty wickets play 3 days of a test at least once?

Black wash looks unavoidable and really hard to digest.

bowling or batting??
by RKN on Aug 21, 2011 07:12 AM  | Hide replies

Its very difficult to say whether its batting failure or bowlers misery causing India's downfall?? Our bowling struggled the whole match, more pathetic batsmen struggling.

Dravid first time in the series started playing positive game(finally he is bit aggressive, still missing reflexes because of his age, he is close to 39), horrible to see the way both Laxman and SRT played today, its hard for me to digest SRT got hit twice in his short innings. I think time has come for top 3 to retire and lets get some youngsters get chance.

Raina should declare his retirement from the test, so is Yuvi. Even Mukund had better technique than Raina at test level cricket.
Let Badri, Pujara, Rohit and Virat play test cricket.

To sum it up, very talented english side beat weak India black and blue, not even close contest.

I only think if Sourav Ganguly happened to be the captain, then what this media used to write. Sourav removed from captainship after a winning series and scoring a century there.Dhoni is not at all fit as a wicketkeeper, but he is allowed to do so, when better keeper Wridhiman is present.

Pl don't blame only Dhoni. Its BCCI , which is ruining the cricket by organizing the IPL and sidelining the Ranji, thus a talent like a bubble burst can be chosen from IPL ignoring the technique of good cricketing.
Dhoni has done to IndianCricket what we r waiting for last 28 yrs. Tha main culprit is BCCI and cricket itinerary where the cricketrs get dont rest at all.

Pravin Kalyan Amre pronunciation (help·info), born on August 14, 1968, Mumbai, is an Indian cricketer.

Amre represented India in 11 Test matches scoring one 100 and three 50s with a batting average of 42.50. However, these figures did not help him to become a regular fixture in the national team. He found himself in Indian colours just for two seasons from 1992 to 1994... Dennis Lillee himself said Amre was the best player of pace bowling, even better than Viv Richards and Bishen Bedi said he was the best playr of spin bowling, even better than Gundappa Vishwanath.

He had the rare honour of scoring a century in his debut Test match. It came against a South African side that included Allan Donald and Brian McMillan. He was known to be asthmatic.

He had a good record in domestic cricket playing for Mumbai Cricket Team, Railways, Rajasthan and Bengal. He also played in South Africa with Boland. His 246 for Rest of India against Bengal is still the highest by any bastman in the Irani Trophy.

Amre came from the same school of cricketers as Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli, and like Tendulkar and Kambli, he was also coached by Ramakant Achrekar. He is the only Indian cricketer to score a half century on his ODI debut and also a century on his test debut

He is the current coach of the Mumbai Cricket Team,& the assistant coach of the Indian Premier League side, Pune Warriors India.
Pravin Amare is best coach as on date so appoint him just now 2 boost fight

Test hundreds are always something to cherish, but when it comes on your debut, it is even more satisfying. Pravin Amre experienced that rare high when he scored a fighting 103 in the Durban Test against South Africa in the 1992-93 series – an innings that was largely responsible for India forcing a draw in the match.

Eighteen years down the line, Amre recounts the highest point of his Test career. “I walked into bat with India in a spot of bother at 48 for four. The Durban wicket had a lot of bounce and South Africa had a potent bowling attack in Allan Donald, Brett Schultz, Meyrick Pringle and Brian McMillan who were peppering me with bouncers. I took a lot of blows. For a 21-year-old debutant, it was a challenge not just to stand up to them but also to do something for my team,” Amre recalls.

The Durban deck is different from most other wickets as it used to offer prodigious swing towards the latter part of the day. “Before the start of the Test match, the late Malcolm Marshall, who was playing for Natal at that time, told us to be careful about the Durban wicket because it starts to swing in the post-tea session because the ground is near to the sea. I experienced it when the South African bowlers especially Pringle was moving the ball both ways when the survival at the wicket was the only thing on my mind at the start of my innings,” he recalls.

The century effort had its share of struggles when runs were difficult to come

The century effort had its share of struggles when runs were difficult to come by with the South African seamers sticking to a probing line. “I clearly remember Day Three of the match when I was struggling to get a single run for an hour as McMillan was reeling of maidens from one end.”

Even today, Amre is indebted to wicket-keeper Kiran More for helping him get that coveted hundred. More helped Amre string together 101 runs for the 8th wicket at a time when he look in danger of running out of partners. “I am really thankful to Kiran for the dogged resistance he offered from the other end. Without his support, I don’t think I could have reached my hundred.”

The Amre-More partnership also ensured India garnered a slender 23-run first innings lead. He also shared a 87-run fifth-wicket stand with skipper Mohammed Azharuddin after India lost Ravi Shastri, Ajay Jadeja, Sanjay Manjrekar and Sachin Tendulkar cheaply.

At stumps on Day Two of the match, Amre was unbeaten on 39 in India’s total of 128 for six. Though things looked very dismal for India, one man was confident that Amre would get to a hundred and boldly predicted it. Amre recalls: “He (Abu) was a South African-based entrepreneur who used to bring food for our cricketers. Abu told me at stumps on Day Two that I would get my century on debut the next day. He said that he could see that happening from the dedication and determination I showed.”Amre got to

He said that he could see that happening from the dedication and determination I showed.”

Amre got to his hundred when he lofted Omar Henry over the bowler’s head that forced umpire Steve Bucknor to duck as he raced from 98 to 102. “Every time I see that shot, I fondly remember Abu because he was the one who rushed to the ground to hug me as I crossed the milestone,” recalls Amre. Sadly, Abu died in a road accident five years ago.

The Durban Test was historical in more ways than one. It was South Africa's first home Test since March 1970 and the home side included a non-white player for the first time in Omar Henry, who became their oldest Test debutant at 40 years and 295 days.

It was a match that featured a number of firsts. The match saw Tendulkar become the first player in the history of Tests to be given out (run out) after the ground umpire (Cyril Mitchley) referred the matter to the third umpire (Karl Liebenberg) on the second day of the Test.It was also a match in which South African captain Kepler Wessels bec

Sachin - Only Bresnan left
by cc man on Aug 21, 2011 03:25 AM  | Hide replies

Guys,

With Swann taking Tendya wicket in the firt innings of ongoing 4th Test match, we can conclude that Tendya gave his wicket cheaply to all the English bowlers except Bresnan.

So, that means Bresnan will be taking his wicket in 2nd innings of this 4th test match.

Pathetic batsman. Its in the best interest of himself and cricket fraternity, its better he announce retirement because such pathetic(no champion/warrior) display from a guy who played 140 test matches is inexcusable.

Thank God Sachin You have made my day.I know you are a strong believer of Quality than Quantity(Especially in crunch situations) I realised that too today. The quality of those 23 runs were awsome ,head still ,driving down the ground ,it was just awsome.Like a true god you did not compromise on quality of runs (some fools might say that more runs were needed from u today).Look at that Selfish Dravid who only cares about more and more runs and helping his motherland((what a stupid himan being).By the way you can spend more time with your godly family tomorrow morning while this stupid human Dravid fights for the pride of his country.
