India's Great Batting Line-up???
by a g on Aug 18, 2011 01:51 PM  | Hide replies

'Great batting line-up' thats how the media and other teams too describe India batting. Is it really great? Well...they maybe great under favourable conditions!!! What's amusing is, when not so great batsman like Matt Prior, Alistair cook can go on a run riot, why can't our great great batsman like Sachin, Sehwag, Gambhir, Dhoni etc couldn't even score a century. Is it that they are great or they are being made by us? While the english bowlers are able to generate seam, same is the case with Iondia bowlers too. So, when english batsmen can play the seaming conditions, why not our great great Indian batsmen? This truly reflects on how great our so called 'great indian batting lineup' is!!!

Every team nowadays are TIGER at home and RAT abroad and we are no exception. Look at England for instance : They didn't own a single series in Indian Subcontinent in the last 20 years ; they didn't win a single World Cup . And still they are now the No.1 side of the World. True champions were Windies in late 70s and early 80s and Aussies in late 90s and early 2000s . Barring them , every other team is as laughable as this present Indian Team.

That's a meek excuse!!! India was never a true no. 1. There world cup win also happened bcos it was held in the subcontinent. Indian team needs the pitches to be doctored (no pace no seam...totally flat) to favour their batsmen. Is this the kind of no.1 we are boasting of? While losing and winning are part of every game, what also matters is the way you lose a game. And the way Indians lost is absolutely ignoble defeat and only reflects on the psyche and the mettle of these so called 'great players'. And you already have another Indian supporting you. This is the sorry state of affairs in India. No matter how much useless fellows we have, we still laud them and make icons of them just bcos they are Indians and we need somebody larger than life. The truth is there is nobody in the current Indian team who is anywhere near greatness!!!

Yes India can
by Bharat KUKRETI on Aug 18, 2011 01:38 PM

Yes they can ....By getting white wash with 4-0 . This time even bigger margins of an innings and 500 runs and pocketing the money Sharad Pawar has received from England.

CRICKET
by AJIT ANAND on Aug 18, 2011 12:55 PM

Cricket has become a big money business . It cannot survive unless the games are stage managed. That is perhaps the reason that a top grade team ends up last in subsequent games.

His strike rate in tests is 42 % If anybody leaves so many balls alone he wil have a good average because he dosent take the slightest risk.

mr rajgopal.. have u lost ur head or ur wife is not giving u enuf pleasure these days???? dravid is the most consistent batsmen in this this series.also hez the most technically correct.....has scored 2 hundreds whereas ur so called GOD has made just one 50.. secondly this is is test match not a one day.. u need to plan out ur innings.. if the rest of the team cant bat then why blame dravid alone...as it is we r gonna lose this one also.... and plz dont say negative batting... u nee to bat like that in test matches...if u think batting like sehwag will winu matches then better stop watching test cricket...

Pay our cricketers more and more
by Unnikrishnan rozario on Aug 18, 2011 12:01 PM

i think we should pay our cricketers more and more... i cant damn think why we are not focussing on any other game except cricket, cricketers are more valued in india than our true national heroes, no other game is followed or played in india with passion other than cricket, look at our national game - hockey, can anybody even name the players, how many of us recognise them? how many olympic medals can we score, i feel pity to say that our contribution to world sports is zero. I can't understand what are we trying to prove by playing more and more cricket...
