Feel sorry for Dhoni
by Arv Singh on Aug 13, 2011 08:18 PM  | Hide replies

Watching this match, I felt sorry for Dhoni. He looked pathetic and run down. His body language showed a tired and defeated man. Give him a break and let him spend some time with his lovely wife.

Realistically speaking, I enjoyed the fightback by Dhoni and Praveen. He has shown the grit in his batting. But he needs to improve his wicketkeeping and leadership skills.

He needs to motivate the players, and improve upon his team selection, bowling changes, and field placements. Try making "Large" in the last game, Mr. Dhoni!

Time Has Come to chuckDhobi out of the team along with his YoungNorthieGuns. YoungNorthieGuns include Raina, Bhajji, Yuvraj, Gambhir, PraveenKumar, IshantSharma- this lot is 100% focussed onIPL and increasing their valuation in AdMoney andIPL- nothing else matters to them

Man, you stink of bias against North Indians. Try thinking rationally and understand that it was the same skipper and the same team that reached #1 position in Test Cricket and won World Cup. If you ever played sports, you should know that wins and defeats are part of life. How you learn from your defeats and emerge is what makes you a better men.

Look at the list I have put up. This lot areDhobi'sDarlings. NonPerformers who keep their place whether on not they perform. I'm sayingDhobi is biased- I'm not saying anything about NorthIndians. Just that I have seen the team develop underDhobi and it seems suspiciously like he has aNorthIndianBias. Examples include:
1) Inclusion ofJoginderSharma in the 2007 T20 WC team. This guy nearly lost us the final
2) Raina beingShielded inSouthAfrica againstDalesteyn andMorneMorkel. DhobiPlayed Pujara in the tests in place ofRaina just so Raina could retain his place in the test squad and to ensure no one could point fingers atRaina's inability againstPace. This has been exposedBrutally by Eng.
3) IshantSharma being retained for a long time in the team (nearly 1 year) even when he was floppingBadly. TheSelectors finally intervened andKicked thisMoron out of the team. HisPerformance in Eng is again a case as to why he doesn't deserve his place
4) Bhajji- NonPerformer sinceKumble retired. Though there are better bowlers available likeAshwin, he keeps his place.
5) Yuvraj in teamDespite known behavioral and focus issues

Need I say more?

MSDhobi's Bias against SouthIndians and people from parts other than theCowDungBelt includes:
1) NonInclusion ofAshwin and PragyanOjha in the team despite their proven performance
2) Not givingSreesanth any time to settle and perform in the team
3) Removal of RD from ODISquad (remember that it was RD whoFought to haveDhobi included in the team in place of anyone else asKeeper. KarthickIs a superbKeeper andParthivPatel is a much betterBat. MSDhobi did notHesitate toBetray hisGodFather just because he is aSouthie)

I don't find any Ads funny or good that involve the IndianTeam any more- these guys (MeaningDhobi and his YoungNorthieGuns) are 100% focussed on increasing theirIPL and Ad valuation. Cricket is a secondary matter for them). even that case Bhajji put on VijayMallya is to increase publicity for McDowell's, probably Mallya paid him to do it. These guys have absolutely no pride in their game or their country. SouravGanguly might have been selfish or political or anything else- one thing that was true about him was his FightingSpirit- see the first test inBrisbane in 2003 where India drew in a fighting manner and went on to win gloriously in the next match in Adelaide- Ganguly, VVS, RD and Viru performed superbly in that series- compare that team to this IPLFocussed one.. PraveenKumar hit some quick runs at the end- just so he can be known as a hitter and increase his valuation a few HundredThousand in the next round ofAuctions

BCCI is to be blamed
by Sudipto Ghosh on Aug 13, 2011 05:14 PM  | Hide replies

This is a classic example of 'destruction by excess and greed'.
The IPL did help Indian cricket initially but now too much has led to its destruction and downfall. I do not blame the players but the greedy BCCI.
I hope this is not the beginning of the end.

Australia, England, South Africa all have T20 tournaments too and they run throughout the year. IPL only runs for 2 months.
What do you have to say about that ? Dont blame IPL for the pathetic performance of the team

Yes, BCCI is to be blamed, Aus,Eng,SA a have T20 throughout the year but not like IPL (90 matches without rest) purely for money making not for development of Cricket. it will not help players perform for all form of cricket.

Hi,
Couple of points there:
1. In England the cricket season starts in April and goes on till September (I can say that from personal experience - I play for a local club in UK). They rotate the players and there isn't the pressure and the hectic schedule as in the IPL.
2. Their national commitments always come first.

What you write is correct. But how many team members play in such tourney's ?

In our case, it is 100 percent.

I have been saying this for years now. well 3 years to be exact. Stop watching IPL. Let IPL die so that the cricketers can concentrate on international series than domestic cash series
