World Class Team
by Ashish Sharma on Aug 14, 2011 12:07 PM

What people fail to understand is that Indian cricket team is a world class team, they don't believe in defeating second-grade opponents... that's why they lost to England to give them world no. 1 status. Now that England has achieved that status India will give them first taste of defeat. Poor England...

What a gift the "GREAT" cricket team has given to the nation just before 15th August. Such humilating loss ... such a terrible shame for the entire nation. India got independence after lot of sacrifices from the lot of freedom fighters who loved their motherland and paid ultimate price with their lives. But these cricketers... they have totally soured the joy of this entire nation on its 65th independence day. People of India should be united in slamming this cricket team.... they have just become a bunch of money acumulating machines... without any feelings for the sentiments of millions of Indians.

these are not dead flat tracks of india, india has never won a test series in Australia and South Africa...India should only play in india because that's the only place where they win or at the most just stay inside Asia otherwise they will keep on getting thrashed like the way they are in England...no one would be surprised if Cook scores another 294 in Ovals as well...just take this team back to india and eat bryani over there...give bharat ratna to tendi-noodle and ask him to retire

India only scores on home pitches... fine..., but what happens to the world class teams like australia or england, who score heavily on fast tracks, yet fail to score when they come to India on the so called "easy and dead" wickets, and lose matches and series. Is not about being 'useless' but about being "used to" particular conditions.

It's easy for teams that are used to fast bouncy pitches to be number one, because wickets are the world are that way. But for a country like India, that is used to slow turning wickets it was an achievement to gain world no.1 position... and they won matches not just in India but abroad.

Overhyped Dhoni's magic is over
by Cool Guy on Aug 14, 2011 08:56 AM

So much hype for an ordinary cricketer and captain. He was made a great captain by our media, especially Hindi news media and people who did not see in which friendly conditions he has helped India to win. When he went to alien conditions, his real magic came out.

India never looked like No.1 team.
by manjunath nagappa on Aug 14, 2011 08:22 AM  | Hide replies

To be honest, Indian team never looked like a No 1 or champion team. There never was feeling like you use to have with the great WI team of 1980's and Aus team between 2003-2008. I never felt that this team would win test series out side india against quality team. India won series outside India against NZ which is as good as B'desh/Zim and WI which is as good as NZ and it some how managed to draw series against srilanka and SA. India doesn't have a team to dominate world cricket. Indian test team is just capable of winning at least 1 match in away series. India become no.1 by playing more tests at home and more matches as whole than other to reach no.1. which it never deserved.

Were they no. 1 team in the first place ??? NO
They were made No. 1 by some statistical jugglery in which only the no. of matches won are taken into account and not the conditions in which the wins have come.

Where is the God of Cricket?
by ghenda on Aug 14, 2011 08:05 AM  | Hide replies

We have a God of Cricket in Sachin Tendulkar, the Best Captain in Dhoni and Turbanator who can bowl out any team, but where were they?

Factually, it is we who have spoiled the players by paying them much more than what they deserve. Great doctors who have saved thousands of lives like Dr.Devi Shetty, or great entrepreuners who have provided jobs to thousands like Sri Narayana Murthy or teachers who have moulded millions with their selfless services are not considered as Gods, but cricket players like Sachin who care for only personal gains, name and fame are considered as God.

It is not the cricketeres, but it is we who have to change our attitude towards the cricketeres and show them the place they deserve.

He made 40 which included 8 fours. That means he was not playing to save the match and was trying justify his position for ODI series ahead.

If he has any shame left after this massive loss and his poor performance in the series, he should retire from test cricket.

Keep barking you too. However your barking will not make Tendulkar play better.
