Sreeshant - should never be taken into squad
by prasheen mothukuri on Aug 13, 2011 05:02 AM  | Hide replies

He is such a pathetic bowlers who dont know where he is bowling. All we see his irritating facial expressions before and after ball deliveriries. He puts expressions in such a way that as if he is a world class bowler like Broad,Anderson etc. But, Broad,Anderson does not put expressions like him. And also he laughs now and then which is more irritating considering he is very expensive bowler with no wickets. No discipline at all

His performances have been few and far between. Maybe 1 match winning spell every 2 years.

But what it actually shows is the lack of seamers in India that sree comes back to the team time and again.

Also SMG called out his weakness at bowling at left handers.

Also he is a confidence bowler like bhajji... unfortunately:)
If he gets a wicket , he looks threatening after that.

All the more reason that catches should not be dropped on his bowling... ;)

he is the reason dravid is dropping catches so the rest dont get wickets. ofcourse, that has frustrated indian bowlers on top of frustration built by angrez batting.

CL 20-20
by Chellapan on Aug 13, 2011 04:47 AM

Being a great fan of SRT, I am extremely pained to see him promoting IPL CL 20-20.
Surely the promos might have been taped earlier, but this puts India's test performance in perspective.

Many defend T20 saying that it is only 20 overs and the bowler bowls only 4 overs.
But the intensity of a T20 games is many times the one of a 50 over game and of course that of a test match in terms of physical exertion within a stipulated time period.

The 24 deliveries that the bowler bowls requires immense concentration and effort as the batsman is ready to slam every ball for six if he could help it.

Ditto from the batsman's viewpoint. He has to swing from the word go.

Coupled with travelling and enormous amount of matches, particularly in IPL4, the damage is done on the player.

I remember Zaheer injuring his shoulder diving at mid-off in IPL2.

The senior players are not getting any younger and they should now concentrate on their performances rather than slam-bang stuff.

Pathetic Indians
by Jay on Aug 13, 2011 04:45 AM  | Hide replies

I am so sorry to say this but this Indian team is run by, coached by, and represented by filthy cocksucckers. It was a PAIN to watch them today. God knows how much tax payers' money was wasted to buy these morons kits, apparels. That old monkey Fletcher is a xerox copy of Greg Chappell. Like the Aussie, this guy will see the downfall of India in the next 2 years of his contract. He's an OOOLLLLDDD MAN with a poor body language and dying grit; something the Indian team could have done without. Gary Kirsten represented the NEW India. Fresh bodies, fresh minds, fresh ideas, fresh attitudes etc. I am afraid India will drop down to no.6 or 7 in the ICC rankings. Please get rid of the old grandpas in the team including the f**king GOD, Tendulkar. That would be the happiest day of my life. GOSH !

by prasheen mothukuri on Aug 13, 2011 04:36 AM  | Hide replies

Ok guys, tendya will be out to lbw(with score in 10-20s)in second innings taking his tally of lbw in this series to 3 and and another addition to his overall lbw records. Or worst case, he will be clean bowled. May be bresnan this time because till now he did fall to him.

Based on his weak technique against incoming, inswinging good length pitches deliveries that has seam, bounce, pace, swing, spin. He will be lbw out or clean bowled to such deliveries in second innings

Even I can predict that Dhoni and Laxman will be either caught, bowled, LBW, run out, stump out, hit wicket or not out. ;-)

Accountability
by Chellapan on Aug 13, 2011 04:23 AM

Need for professionalism

While our culture has lot of positive aspects, nothing can replace professionalism in sorts govvrning bodies.

We are used to the culture of sycophancy, flattery, quid pro quo etc which causes damage expecially in professional sports.

Most of the time administrators are scratching each other's backs and doing favors for each other.

There is a lack of owning responsibility for failures which is doing harm in the long run to cricket in India.

Nobody should be above the country's honour. Neither cricketers nor administrators.

Is Sachin Over hyped?
by krishna gupta on Aug 13, 2011 02:39 AM  | Hide replies

As an Indian living in UK, I am really ashamed to see the dismal performance of this Indian team.At Lords, in 1st test match, English audience gave Sachin standing ovation as he entered the ground and expected him to make his 100th century. But the amateur like performance by this legend and his team mates, makes me wonder if he is a paper tiger only.

Its proven that he is overhyped player. He is never been a warrior/champion batsman in all forms of the cricket especiall test cricket where he never plays daddy hundreds consistently considering the hype he goes with.

He has a weak technique with incoming, inswinging good length pitched deliveries that has seam, bounce, pace, swing, spin. He gets out to lbws to such deliveries most of the times and holds most number of lbw records. Also, he is weak in cover drive technique. He gets out to slip catches consistently because of this another weak link.

He cannot play big shots all over the ground. He has only limited shots and if those areas are blocked, he is done deal. His areas are mid wicket, cut shot, paddle sweep, lofted long on and long off, in-out drives, flick. midwicket sweep. Ideally, a hyped batsman or great batsman will play big shots according to field places.
