Too many greats !!
by Voiceu on Aug 05, 2011 04:31 PM  | Hide replies

We cannot blame the following people
1. Tendulkar
2. Dravid
3. Lakshman
4. Dhoni
5. Sewag
6. Gambhir
7. Harbhajan

We can blame the following but they are playing well
1. Ishant
2. Praveen Kumar

Some of them are new and we cannot blame them too
1. Mukund
2. Saha

We are left with very little choice to blame but they are World cup heros - hard to blame .. We worshipped Kapil and boys for two decade )
1. Raina
2. Yuvaraj

This is the reason why Gaavaskar and Sashtry and running like headless chicken. We have to change our culture.

First one to blame will be Tendulkar, next Dravid, Lakshman and Dhoni. If you are fit play otherwise leave way for others. We are a country of 1.3 billion and we can definetely find some healthy 10 member team. We dont need you to go to england and say you are stressed and tired. Who asked Gambhir to go and rest there. Who asked HArbhajan, Dhoni, Tendulkar or others to travel when they are not fit.

Time to focus on winning ..... get rid of the hero worship.

England strength
by Dilip Mahanty on Aug 05, 2011 03:10 PM  | Hide replies

The difference in the two sides is the lower order batting. England has 2 genuine allrounders in Bresnan & Broad with Swann for support. Matt Prior is batting and keeping better than Dhoni. Even Anderson can be relied upon to hang around in times of crisis.India has no one to match! India's woes start from Dhoni downwards.Dhoni's batting and keeping have taken a sharp dip.Even his captaincy has suffered perhaps because he doesn't have a full strength Indian team at his command!
Compared to England the Indian fielding is abysmal! Ponderous movement in the field and also between wickets gift away free runs. Our fielders don't cut off runs and our batsmen don't run quickly. With such major handicaps how does one expect India to win against a strong side?

Edbangston is going to be pacy track. Hence you have to play all your fast bowlers. My selection of fast bowlers will be Ishant, Zaheer, Sree and Munaf. Praveen can bowl swingers when there is only cloud cover or new cherry red ball and we have seen him in the last test match the English Batsmen plundered him in all parts of the ground when there was no juice in the pitch.

Spinners will play only very very little role in the English Series. My selection should be Adam (IPL who clocks 145 KPM in IPL) instead of Ojja. We have seen in the last 2 test matches H. singh got < 5 wickets in 4 innings.

Part-timer can do his job

SACHIN FAILURE
by koni on Aug 05, 2011 01:21 PM

SACHIN FAILURE COST 2 MATCHES. STILL INDIA DEPEND ON SACHINF FOR WINNING MATCHES. INDIA NEEDS ATLEAST 2 SACHIN'S TO WIN MATCHES. ONE IS FOR BOWLING, ONE IS FOR BATTING.

If oldies like Dravid are dropped. We can do well without dravid. scoring two centuries and you people keep him on top of the world. he is the worst batsman and he creates a negative impact because of his slow batting. have you seen this guy bat briskly at any point in his career. he can retire and give way to Kohli.

Why watch Test Matches bro, when your mind is designed for 5 overs a side games?
Get yourself examined, rather than spitting venom on an icon.

yr right. he is never useful for winning team india . he played for himself for make place in the team. but his score always supporting to other batsman. just play for himself whatever is the situation, whatever is run rate. ganguly litter better than dravid. ganguly used to protect his wicket when sachin was scoring, never go for hitting. when spinners came he go for hitting.

If Slow batting is the criteria for Exclusion, Then SRT and MSD should also be thrown out. MSD in Lords faced 120 Balls for 26 Runs Much slower that dravid.Srt was stranded on 12 and it took him another 50 balls to score another run. Bring on Players like Pujara,Badri etc and give them a decent run. Just do not drop on the basis on one match performance.

this raja gopalan wants to drop dravis after scoring two tons,
stupid,
u remove his 100 and then see tht total indian score and the contribution of other players.

When donald was fast and furious and all other batsman struglled against him in SA, Dravid smached hin for 24 odd runs in a single over

What do you know abt test cricket? Do you know how much it takes to stand in middle for hours in pacy tracks? See other batsmen couldn't stand in front of seaming balls. If Dravid had not scored those hundreds, then Team India would have bundled inside 100 runs and Match would have been finished in two days. Think before you speak. No Country has any "Wall" in their teams, But we do. Be Proud of that.

Lookin at performance of the indian team in England,I dont see anything wrong with the batting. Almost all of them have scored in one inning or the other. It is actually the bowling which is not performing, and let the English batting of the hook, there by putting extra pressure on the batting. We need at least FIVE bowlers. For the purpose we have to have an all rounder in the team. It may be unfortunate that we have only one genuine all rounder in Irfan Pathan and hence he should be in the team. Secondly English players are not as comfortable against leg spin. As such Amit Mishra who is with the team should have played

stupid statement...
by sunil k on Aug 05, 2011 12:40 PM

it's not the young factor, it's the technic factor that has let down team india.....jst look at the number of deliveries these flat pitch bullies faced....ashamed of themselves....no footwork no ability to play agianst rising deliveries...these are not subcontinent "mud tracks"....ENG has quality pace attack....swing and seam throught the day..u got to be very good on ur footwork....look at dravid....exemplery foot work, great reflexes, plays new ball n fresh pitch, judges line n length admirably and plays long inningses without getting tired ,innigse by inningse.....that's what team india expects frm all players.....not phalthu 20-20 attitude....gully cricket mentality...
