and england played like australia ? ... it would be hard for them to say that because then it would mean australia is benchmark of excellence and brits would be fisting their own balls to say that regarding their rivals ;)

Suggestions to BCCI
by Orient Mystique on Aug 03, 2011 10:14 AM  | Hide replies

If BCCI really cares for itself and its players, the pride of achieving number 1 status in tests besides being the reigning ODI World Champions, then BCCI needs to seriously think of the following suggestions:

1. IPL is a premier and money spinning venture. Retain and nurture it at all costs. But reduce the number of matches to 44 by dividing the 10 teams into two groups of five teams each and each team within the group playing the remaining 4 teams once at home and once away. The two top teams from each group qualify for semifinals. Two semifinal matches, one final and one for the play off for deciding the third team make a total of 44 matches. The tournament should be over in one month. Please do not add any more teams in IPL for the next 5 - 7 years. Already many of the players in each team are just warming the benches.

2. Australia, England, South Africa and Srilanka are the major teams of the world. India should have bilateral tours with these countries once in two years at home and away by turn. Each tour should consist of two practice matches of 3 days each, 3 tests, 3 ODIs and one T20. 5 tests and 7 ODIs are disgusting.

3. India gains nothing by playing the other teams like New Zealand, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe and West Indies. Bilateral series with these countries should be had once in 4 years.

4. BCCI can think of playing bilateral series in India and at neutral venues against Pakistan, once in 3 years. No tours to Pakistan please.

Contd.:

5. BCCI should use its money power on ICC to:

a) Hold ODI WC once in four years like at present.

b) Hold T20 WC once in four years. Next tournament should be in 2013.

c) Scrap champions trophy

d) Scrap T20 Champions league

e) Scrap all kinds of triseries

f) Scrap Afro Asian cup matches

g) Scrap Asia cup (ODI)

Too much cricket is sapping the players and reducing them to villains from heroes overnight. It is also spoiling the spectator interest. Slowly even the commercial interest which provokes the greed of BCCI and ICC will vanish if there is unbridled expansion and continuation of variety of cricket matches globally.

Good Suggestion. BCCI bosses please listen. Money is important, that is why you are so powerfull at least in CRICKET. Enjoy the power. But care for the prestige also. We want to be no 1 team in the world. With One billion plus population this is the least we expect from you BCCI.

Re: Dhoni blames the loss on cramped schedule
by major on Aug 03, 2011 10:21 AM
IF INDIA WANTS BETTER TEAM IN FUTURE WHATEVER IS HAPPENING HAPPENING FOR GOOD CAUSE IF INDIA WON BY LUCK OR DRAW THE SERIES THEY WILL NEVER REMOVE DHONI FROM TEST AND RAINA AND YUVRAJ WILL KEEP PLAYING IN TEST THEY ARE NOT FIT AT ALL. THEY DON'T HAVE TECH TO FACE SHORT PITCH BALL AND MOVING BALLS AT ALL.DHONI HIMSELF DOES NOT HAVE TECH TO PLAY MOVING BALL. THEY ALL MUST GO FROM TEST TEAM. PUJARA,ROHIT SHARMA MISHRA,PARTHIV PATEL OR DINESH KARTHIK AND WASIM JAFFER AS RESERVED OPENER SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN TEAM. THESE ABOVE MENTIONED PLAYERS ARE REAL TEST PLAYERS NOT THOSE DHAKKANS WHO ARE PLAYING NOW.

ENGLAND IS REAL NO-1
by major on Aug 03, 2011 10:08 AM  | Hide replies

ENGLAND TEAM IS REAL NO-1 CAUSE THEY HAVE DEFEATED AUSTRALIA IN THEIR BACKYARD. NOW WE ALSO WON ONE MATCH IN AUSTRALIA BUT WE DRAW THE SERIES SAME WE DID IN SOUTH AFRICA. WE HAVE BATSMAN TILL NO-6 BUT ENGLAND HAS 10 BATSMAN EXCEPT ANDERSON ALL CAN BAT. ALSO IN BOWLING DEPARTMENT THEIR BOWLERS ARE MUCH SUPERIOR THEN OUR BOWLERS. SO OVERALL THEY ARE FAR BETTER SIDE THEN OURS. IF WE KEEP PLAYING TEST WITH PLAYERS LIKE MUMUND,DHONI,YUVRAJ,RAINA,HARBHAZAN THEN GOD ONLY CAN SAVE US.

I would agree partly with what Boycott has to say.. But i will confirm England as a No.1 team when they come to India and then dominate here!! IF our board and curators have enough courage to prepare a turning track and make their batsmen to dance to our spinners tune and still, they are good enough to beat us, then they can be termed as NO.1!!!! Until then, lets reserve the praises..

Trent Bridge Test.

Why should Mr Boycott bring in comparisons? Suffice to say that England were more focussed in their approach in the tests and were definitely a better side.

y do u guys keep criticizing every now and then? It's just a series and i think Indians have done enough to reach to the no 1 spot. A fully fit Indian side is better than England on any given day. Mr. Boycott where were you when the Indians were winning? Bloody british dogs, they just keep barking...

Yes. Bangladesh have more aggressive players than what India have. They would have scored at least 200 runs in place of India’s 158 made by the batting power house.

Indian team does not deserve to be ranked no.1
by Alok Pande on Aug 03, 2011 09:43 AM

It is really a shame that the Indian team has played like a bunch of school children. They should quit playing cricket.

Indian test ranking as No.1 was only a chance because they played maximum cricket on Indian soils.....so do not worry Dhoni's honeymoon is over now

Oh... Wowww.. .Before IPL, all the youngsters were playing to their full potential and were knocking the selection doors?? IPL never affected the potential of the players.. Even the same set of Dravids, Tendulkars and VVS suffered during their first couple of English, Aus, SA tours and still they are yet to master in those pitches.. Dont write off everyone simply.. Also, IPL may be wrong to the nation by not paying taxes.. But good to the players!!
