Dhoni is a dictator
by Prasun Roy on Aug 01, 2011 07:33 PM  | Hide replies

Clearly it was a dicision made by Dhoni and that wretched coach Fletcher. It was evident from the rest of the teams body language that no one was happy with the decision and we fell appart on the field after tea. Dhoni has lost it and don't see any reason why he is in the team. He can't bat, keep wkts or even set good enough fielding or enforce bowling changes. It would be better to play an extra bowler in his place or get a real wkt keeper. Dhoni's batting is a disgrace to test cricket, even Ishant Sharma has a better technique than Dhoni in tests. He looks like a jumping jack facing good fast bowling.

Absolutely right...Except Dravid and Tendulkar and to some extent Laxman, Np one has a Technique to cope up with genuine Fast and Swing Bowling ! I think these guys are product of 20-20 Baseball cricket (Dhoni and Raina) and they can't play test cricket outside subcontinent.

It is all over..
by Surya Prakash on Aug 01, 2011 03:40 PM  | Hide replies

England will declare with a target of 450 . We will be bowled out for less than 200. Dont expect Dravid & VVS to stick a partnership again. Are they only supposed to save us ? Sachin as usual will not bat under pressure, Dhoni has no technique, Raina & Yuvraj are aar yaa paar, others have forgotten batting. So it is curtains for India. No need to even sell tickets for tomorrow. Sachin & Dhoni can rehearse for another advertisement tomorrow using the rest day. Now that Dhoni gifted a faboulous life to Bell, a new ad with Dhoni capitalising on the "Spirit of the game" will come up shortly. Who cares if we lose, we anyhow did not deserve to be No.1. We are only bothered about 100th century of Sachin even if we lose...

england batting was using INDIAN PACE IN THEIR FAVOR. OFCOURSE lbws were not allowed. Umpire had to prove he is Ghora supremist.

england was playing T20 by using indian pace TO HIT STOKES.
INFACT, if india were all BEST spin OF KUMBLE ORDER, england would have not hit more than 300.

Ian Bell did not play in the spirit of the game
by niran on Aug 01, 2011 03:07 PM

I assume Ian Bell thought it was a four, and left the grease. English cricketers are blackmailing in the name of spirit of the game....

Indians played as per spirit of the game, but English team did not. See Bhajji was clear cut not out it was bat first then pad, but Strass did not call him back. we expect same action from opponent

VASELINE WAS ON THE BALL NOT ON THE BAT!
by Kabeer on Aug 01, 2011 01:42 PM  | Hide replies

Indians have done the right thing in recalling Ian Bell back; there are no two opinions on this matter.

Forget what Ravi Shastri and Sourav Ganguli may say in this matter that had it been they, they would not have called Ian Bell back.

What happened to VVS in WI is really a shame. To me it appeared that the whole method of getting VVS out in that manner was preplanned and did not happen naturally. The wicket keeper had waited deliberately for VVS after having gone inside the crease, choosing to come out assuming the ball was dead. The wicket keeper in consonance with Chanderpaul who incidentally was the Captain removed the bails and got VVS out. Chanderpaul should be ashamed. Or the entire WI team had noticed VVSs penchant to pull out of the crease after assuming the ball deaad more sooner than others and planned his dismissal that way.

Now dont compare Bajjis dismissal with Ian Bells and draw parallels; it is not comparable.

What Indians did was the right thing and I believe almost all nations would have done the same thing too. May be even WI too would have done the same, or atleast reviewed their decision had India protested. But it was not the end of the session but during a session.

YOu cant play the game in that way, surely!

Now, the Vaughans insensibility of suggesting Vaseline on VVSs bat.

History of Vaseline in cricket is the sole prerogative of England with John Lever.

It can equally be said that Vaseline was not on bat but on the Ball!

It was batsmans mistake that he thought it was four, not others. It is not right spirit if a batsman says ithaought it was fulltoss but it was yorker not my mistake
