how stupid are these englishmen? Almost all of them? Ian Bell admits he was stupid to assume the ball crossed the boundary. I wonder if he didnt realize this on the ground. But he had 20 minutes to ponder over and i am sure he would have had a good look at the situation. Cant he accept that stupidity and not come out to bat again? And look at strauss and flower. They went to talk to dhoni about this. I mean this is utter non-sense. On top of this, nasser hussain had lot of things to say about India's stand on DRS. Vaughan had pointed fingers at VVS laxman. Oh boy, no doubt england played better cricket than india in this series, but we dont want to see this. To all englishment, the series is not over yet. so play well and get to the number one position rather than indulge in such incidents.
Have to feel sorry for dhoni as he is without the SEHWAG and gambhir and Zaheer. lets hope their presence makes a difference to this indian side.

Being the best team in the world also means having a solid bench strength. In thea absence of Zaheer and Sehwag, India has been found wanting.
With all these controversies happening one after the other, we are overlooking the fact that India has played miserably. They have not played like a team. What is more worrying is Dhoni's batting. He does not seem to have the technique to play the moving ball. His batting has been shoddy to say the least.
I genuinely feel that there is'nt any obvious no.1 team in the world. I think that S.Africa, England and India are at par with each other with all of them being tigers in their own backyard.

I think Dhoni should have never appealed in the first case. Had he not appealed, all this controversy would have never happened. He had a good view of what was happening on the field and it was trivial of him to appeal.
Once, he decided to appeal, he should not have reversed it. If he had to reverse it, he should have done it before players left for tea.

Fantastic point. Spirit of the game should be natural and not reinstated in 20 minutes. There were two choices. Go by the law and Bell is OUT. Go by the spirit and Bell is NOT OUT. But it should be spontaneous. For Dhoni, the spontaneous decision was to get the WICKET. It is only later that he realised that what he did was a street cricket. Having said that, I think what Bell did is alos wrong. First he has no rights to decide Tea / Coffee / Drinks. The umpires are there and are paid to that. Second, on reversal of the appeal, he should not have come back to bat. It is shameful on his part. In any situation, your immediate REACTION to that shows your spirit - good or bad. Later you will only get chance to redeem yourself. NO ONE GETS A SECOND CHANCE TO MAKE A FIRST OPINION.
