Indian cricket is nothing but Sachin Reality show..
by Manish Kulkarni on Aug 02, 2011 04:32 AM  | Hide replies

all others other than Dravid and Laxman are glorified fake actors in the room who come and go every other year. These other two guys are outcast when it comes to media limelight because they steal away ranking of this fake show

If it is not about Sachin it must be about Dhoni, if it not about Dhoni then media does not make any money

I think the BCCI/IPL are to be blamed for the horrible showing. The way BCCI is planning schedule for the team between IPL, World cup team has got hardly any chance to come out with a plan. Also Duncan Fletcher is yet to establish any connection with players.

Bafoons like Gavaskar and Shastri talk about how sachin brings
by Manish Kulkarni on Aug 02, 2011 04:04 AM  | Hide replies

bat down, how he hits straight on the ground, how he looks positive today, how he pees with confidence when half of the team is back in the dressing room, even when Sachin scored 10 in first they were talking as if he has scored a double century ! in those 10 runs with his class technique BS..

give me a break, Hey Gavaskar, Ganguly this is not Sachin reality show..This is test cricket match. we know you are in love with how he plays, but wake up and start thrashing Indian IPL junk like Dhoni and others,. they are scared to say a word on this Dhoni as if Dhoni is going to kick them out their job, execuses like Harbhajan is injured, the fact is that he is finding excuse to sit in next match so he does not get the tag DROPPED..well while batting he looked pretty fit. The indian cricket is complete fake now..entire media is circus trying to say feel good words..mann !

The obscene amount of money in Cricket in India..
by A P on Aug 02, 2011 02:15 AM  | Hide replies

needs to be checked , otherwise India will remain a mediocre team . I don't think dhoni or any one in the team has any motivation to really win, They have earned money for their 7 generations and performance is the last thing on their minds.

We need to ask, why Indians' ultimate aim is Money, Status and Stardom.

I think most around the world thrives for Money, Status and Stardom. But the problem with many of our cricketers is that once they get their money and stardom, they forgot where they came from and what made them so rich and famous.

Zaheer Khan remains the latest example of it for me. He picks and chooses series to play and show up stright from his bedroom with beer belly. And miss couple test at team's expense and start working on retaining some fitness so he can get back in the team for the third test. I can also add Harbhajan, Yuvraj in the list as well.

These people are paid tons of money but has no integrity, no sense of dedication nothing.. wasting their youth and talent but smart enough to know the tricks on how to keep their place in the team

The other problem dear friend is for the media to provide them with money and fame when it is still not due of them. Why not treat cricketers like say any other sport? When people in other areas are craving hard to make their ends meet, these over hyped idiots bask and baulk when they have not played even percentage fast bowling on green tracks. Or have the ability / track record of bowling out quality opposition twice within two days. Problem is everyone wants to ride the roller coaster without digging and getting hands dirty

India lost the match from the winning position
by RKN on Aug 02, 2011 01:43 AM

267/4 to 288/10 is quite forgetful.

NH is rite when he blamed BCCI for not agreeing to DRS, use technology stupid even if it is 95% accurate.

RD is great, but he should rotate strike more often. More people confused here dominating the bowler means boundaries, IMO dominating the bowler means stamp authority and get runs(even singles, 2s etc) whenever possible. Batting means stick to one end forever then I am incorrect.

Viru/Gambhir is ideal opening pair for India, but it is too late now.

Bhajji should be rested in next 2 matches, if Zaheer still injured then play Munaf instead Bhajji - Did anybody see real pace bowling talent in India lately?

England seems complete team, but they were 88/6 on first day before Broad came and started hitting. Remember it is the same bowling unit (without Bhajji). We still have chance, I hope.

Sachin may not be able to score here...
by hiral joshi on Aug 02, 2011 01:37 AM  | Hide replies

The way he was settled and playing nobody would imagine he would do same stupidity as Dhoni. He padded a swinging ball, his cricketing career could be older than Anderson's age but he amuses with silly mistakes on crucial times. I dont think England will let Sachin do scoring there.

the problem Sachin has he does play with context and often his good knocks came when the match was in very good shape for India especially on flat tracks. That is big difference between Lara and Sachin..The only good thing Sachin has is conversion rate beyond 50, that does not mean he is great player. The runs matter the most when chips are down and that's where this guy has not shown any great character. He is obviously good striker of the ball when it gets overpichted but I always had doubts on his technique to play swinging and seaming balls. He never improved in that area and keeps losing wicket same way..However I would rate him the best player on the flat tracks and when the matches are not consequential and yes he does keep eye on 100, that is he has so many 100..

If you look back any bowler who bowls with perfect seam like Anderson or Glen McGrath can easily get Sachin out.Sachin has serious weakness a touch outside off and that is what Glen and Anderson have exploited. The area Sachin never mastered, it does not work on flat tracks because ball does not do wonders once it's 10 over old, and Sachin comes 2 down when ball gets pretty old when runs are in the bask, that's where Sachin got more runs..the smart guy like Glen McGrath and Anderson know Sachin is very poor and hence they get him out without much fuss..

I hope you are not making joke..
About Dhoni. he is flat pitch master. he does not have technique to play other than flat dead pitches where he hits through the line, works well with his bottom handed ugly looking drives, he has neither elegance nor class. A player who never scored beyond sub-continent dead tracks. This guy is hailed as hero for India #1, he looked clueless when he leaked 200 runs in two areas, he was just going through motion like a loser and you call him the architect for no#1 ranking. This guy was just plain lucky all along..nothing else, his moves looked masterclass because it worked at that moment. Now he is exposed and falling apart. A real stalwart fights hard when going gets tough. This guy dropped his pads to bowl shows to what level he cares about test cricket. He is using execuses like few bowlers blah..blah..how about his own form, why can't he because if he does he will get exposed, shrewd politician who used other's work and minted money through those adds..that's all he is..that is true Dhoni !. Sachin at least has 99 hundred, but this guy has nothing other than fake character

I guess Sachin's issue is more with the percentage cricket. He just picks wrong shots at the wrong time. exactly the way he did in this test. Some one of his experience and talent, still fails to judge the game and gets out to the false shot really makes no sense.

Also, Sachin has never put efforts to hold one end when the goin gets tough out there. He is justa reach man's ferrari. Only plays big when the opener and #3 has piled on runs or the track is flat to race. Sachin has never played and not going to play hard fought rugged inning that Dravid and Laxman, to some extent, play.

He fought and fought to save it for India, when others miserably failed including wayward bowlers..

to heart and had passion for cricket. Dhoni is politician who has no commitment other than making money on other's work and success. This clown needs to be exposed. Media created hype about this very oridinary plyer as if Dhoni is architect of all this. he was fluke, it's just that everyone worked hard to get Indian to no#1 and some of the matches on flat dead tracks helped on the way..Dhoni used all this to his advantage and his cool attitude helped that image. He is fake guy, feels no pain and has casual attitude towards loss or win..if there is no pain, there is no gain !

Absolutely spot on.. But you will be jumped on for saying this abt "the successful captain of India, who single handedly won the world cup for us"... "Captain cool" just made us all fool with his manipulative ways!! He has been very casual like a Govt employee towards loss... As if he is getting paid anyways, why take any extra effort..

The day he accepted draw when there were 15 overs to go and just 85 runs to get to win the 3rd test in Windies, the Indian public shld have understood the "fighting spirit" of captain cool.... It was a shame that all the so called experts agreed that it was a right decision!! Any no 1 team in the world would have at least tried to win that match!

criticizing things does not mean one is loser, it shows it takes efforts to stay at #1, the hard thing is staying there and it requires passion. No one denies the fact Indians worships people like Sachin because of his records, but cricket is not about one person. media is responsible for this mess and people like you fall in love with players like Sachin without giving thought who has been helping India all along these years..Dravid and Laxman. people are so obesessed with Sachin they forget basic thing, cricket is all about team efforts, everyone has to contribute, once this guy retires Indian media will think cricket as team sport and not one person's game. media has made it worse hyping this guy beyond belief, giving him god status....to stay at top, you need Sachin's 100th or 200th 100, we need India to play as winners and not losers..looks like you never had criticism in your life and for you criticism is loser attitude. Well criticism is important part of life and you learn from that a lot..Sachin is over hyped for all his work. Look at Jack Kallis..40 centuries and 250 wickets, he is not hyped because south Africa is not NUTS on cricket. It's media who brainwashes people like you who can't read beyond headlines and don't have opinions beyond what Gavaskar, Shashtri and others pump about Sachin..! people like you get carried away and that's where your knowledge and maturity gets exposed.
