See the difference between the Sri Lankan Board and the BCCI. The players want to play the cash rich IPL and then opt out of tours representing the country which is not as cash rich IPL. The Sri Lankan Board has done the right thing by calling back Malinga from IPL, because he wants to opt out playing for the country feigning injury. Already our so called seniors, playing day in and day out at IPL have told the BCCI that they do not want to tour West Indies after the IPL stating `too much cricket' as the reason. Our BCCI does not have the guts to tell these seniors `do not play IPL and take 45 days rest. Play for the country'. This shows how our seniors are dictating the terms to BCCI and BCCI falls for it, whereas Sri Lankan Board is very strict that players should play for the country. What a contrast!

BCCI is making millions from IPL but SriLankan Cricket Board does not get anything so they are calling back their players.

Every board whose ever player participate gets 10% of the amount all players earnings. So its not true that the boards are not getting any amount

BCCI is thriving because players are doing well and there\'s huge public enthuciasm for cricket (part of which is of course because of the players). So, its pretty obvious that players can dictate terms.
On the country-vs-money issue, remember that players after all are human beings and time and again history has shown us that human beings react possitively to incentives (especially financial incentives). So, its obvious that they\'d choose the less tiring but more rewarding option.
Sri Lankan Board is reacting so strongly because SL President Mahendra Rajapaksa\'s bloated ego was hurt by BCCI, nothing else.

Boss,
Let me first clarify, IPL is run by BCCI. So, if BCCI cant give a gap of more than 5 days after the World Cup then automatically the players have the right to take rest as they require. The blame is on the BCCI not the players

quite true BCCI has not given options to Indian players to opt out of IPL as coz of indian high profile cricketers people fancy watchin IPL , imagine tendulkar playing IPL mathes in all different cities attract huge numbe rof crowd ratehr than other fringe players, also as we have won the WC senoirs deserve some rest and also it gives an option to new budding cricketers to get exposure in International Arena.
