You mention Jayawardane having a high PVI but his influence goes beyond the runs he scores . He is also the captain and he has led the team well . Other captains also should get bonus points based on their captaincy . eg . Dhoni would get good points for some bold moves during the KKR match but would lose points because he seemed clueless when Valthaty went on the rampage .
It not right to compare MVPI, coz, brand name of the player sells. Big names bring in crowd which ultimately recovers their cost. so owners don't mind paying more to big players like sachin, gambhir etc..

That's why? Bashing that guy without any reason. The reason given by you is so stupid that you also don't want to read it. And by the way We are talking abt performance.
Recent UN report on employability & education system in India says... Educated India youth spend most of their time watching cricket and making lots of analysis on it than trying to develop himself for the industry or the country. YES THAT IS THE FACT.. And media goons are responsible for it
I dont see the formulae to be doing justice to a bowler or a fielder, its more batsman friendly. See the top 20 u have only 3 bowlers. Since most of the match goes on the wire in IPL, that one-two important over bowled well with a crucial wicket or two makes all the difference between winning and losing for the team. A winning effort should have its own PVI points too than just how much runs you score for yourself/team. In ODI's 4 wicket is equivalent to an 100, so in IPL getting 3-4 wicket within the 4 overs should be equated to 100 runs a batsman can get playing full 20 overs. Also being Not Out is a good virtue for a batsman. Captiency also holds its own impact on the teams perfomance. If all basics and common sense are followed, the MVPI would be more resonable.
