only difference is SRT loves hindus and muslims and feel pain when terrorist attack the India. Can't same for SRK.

do you know SRK's wife is Hindu? SRK is also a true nationalist like Sachin and many others. In fact celebrities are the ones who dont bother about religion. Look at Hritik Amir and SRK all married the people they loved and not on basis on religion.

very well said, explorer, there are many small minded people who just do not understand this.
Sachin is right, then his son Arjun will join the elite club of unsucessful performers like....Abhisekh,Tushar,Esha,RohanGavaskar,Fardeen,Bobby,Soha etc who were unable to match parents performance in Cricket/Bollywood.

It is actually opposite. Dont know how you thought that way. We can add Akhsay, Amir's brother (I dont even remember the name), chintu kapoor and so on. The exceptions are in Raj Kapoor's family. And also Amir himself and his nephew are denying this theory.

The only inning of repute sachin played in his entir career of more than two decades is 98 against pak in 2003 world cup,est of all were inconsequential.

Boss how old are you? You may not realise that 20 years is such a long period of time. What to say about people who have no idea of staying in one company for more than 6 months. They can never understand longevity. We are a country which lives in the present. A beggar is one who lives in the present (always bothered about today's food) and never thinking about the past or the future. Are we a nation of beggars who keep thinking that today's innings was the greatest innings and today's feat was the greatest feat. May be we will even say Anna Hazare is greater than Mahatma Gandhi because he had more followers (considering the country's population today). The same is the argument of people who keep comparing the Great Don Bradman with sundry others.

Good analysis but consider the fact that Sachin played most of early matches on foreign soil where someone with Dhoni technique can hardly bat. Also India didnot have a Sehwag who gets out the very first ball then, which means players lower down the order had less balls to play out.
Re: Re: to all blind sachin fanatics and blind dhoni fanatics
by sunil vaidya on Apr 11, 2011 01:13 PM
anand, please check how well dhoni has batted with his 'technique' on foreign soil...
Re: Re: Re: to all blind sachin fanatics and blind dhoni fanatics

Did he ever face some of the finest bowlers in the world on a pitch that assists pace and bounce? He was very much found wanting in South Africa ODI series in SA. Even in India he hadn't got a 50 before the final. Is there any shot any Dhoni that makes people say wow (like ppl do when they see Sachin hits those straight drives and cover drives).
Re: Re: Re: Re: to all blind sachin fanatics and blind dhoni fana
by sunil vaidya on Apr 12, 2011 12:58 AM
if dhoni did not get a single 50 before final in WC then please check the score cards and see what is the reason for it. he came at no. 6 or 7 when only about 10-12 overs were left out of 50 overs. how many 50s and 100s do you expect from him in such conditions? should not he spend enough time on the crease, should not he get enough balls so that he can make big scores. if he comes in the last 10-12 overs he gets to play only about 30-36 balls. how many runs can he make in such conditions. only 20s 30s or 40s are possible in such conditions, which he got regularly. only in the final he got to play when there was lot of time and balls left. he came with about 28 overs still to be played, that is about rougly 84 balls (half of the 28 overs-14 overs x 6 balls) that is why he was able to score big (91 runs in 79 balls)
if sachin had come in dhoni's batting position this wc would he have been able to make all those 100s and 50s? of course not. how many 100s did sachin score in his first 65-70 odd odis when he came down the order? ZERO (0)!!! he was able to score his first 100 only AFTER he started to open the innings. similarly if dhoni gets a chance to bat high up the order he will also produce big innings. to demand 50s or 100s from him in 6 or 7th position regularly is insanity.

anand, in the first test against SA in SA that we lost, in the first innings nearly everybody failed on the fast bouncy track, even sachin tendulkar, dhoni was 2nd top scorer for india after sachin. in that first innings dhoni was the one who was around the most of the time even in difficult situation. he faced more deliveries in that innings than everybody, even more than sachin. even in the second innings you forget he made 90 before getting out to a beauty from steyn. before the start of the 3rd and last test in SA, in case you do not know, dhoni was topscorer in tests from the indian side. in the odi series you say that dhoni failed which batsmen was successful can you say? even sachin failed in the 2 odis before running away back to india and for your information in both these odis dhoni scored more runs than sachin. that dhoni cant play against fast bowlers on fast pitches on foreign soil is just a figment of imagination. you do not know how he was fared away from india. just check up his records www.cricinfo.com. your ignorance will be cleared. saying wow to your shots is not important but winning the match IS. here dhoni scores above sachin. sachin plays well only in easy conditions. dhoni has played well in tough conditions and helped india win more often than sachin ever has. dhoni in just 6-7 years is responsible for more wins than sachin did in all his 20 years in international cricket.

Saurav is the best! He took only 147 Innings to reach 6000. Dhoni should open the innings if he is a real good batsman.
Re: Re: to all blind sachin fanatics and blind dhoni fanatics
by sunil vaidya on Apr 11, 2011 12:57 PM
mahesh are you serious or joking? did saurav really take 147 innings to reach 6000? i will have to check. i am speaking of odis here. not test matches. maybe you want to say sourav took 147 innings to complete 6000 runs in tests? how many innings did he take in odis?

Good analysis, but of no use. Sachin is uncomparable. Dhoni will have to use stick to walk to crease if he fortunatley suceeds for 20 long years inings. He is for 20 20 only.
Re: Re: to all blind sachin fanatics and blind dhoni fanatics
by Pavas Agarwal on Apr 09, 2011 01:39 PM
Earlier ODIS used to be so predictable with scores hardly going over 250 and sachin enjoyed those days scoring heavily with no pressure.Look at the no of sixes he hit,193,even lower comparable to dada and jayasuriya and afridi as well.
Re: Re: Re: to all blind sachin fanatics and blind dhoni fanatics

Thinking in isolation is the issue. Now we say Afridi is superior to Sachin.

First, Dhoni himself never compared with Sachin. It is only you and me.
Re: Re: Re: to all blind sachin fanatics and blind dhoni fanatics
by sunil vaidya on Apr 10, 2011 12:33 PM
explorer, yes dhoni himself never compared with sachin. he does not need to. dhoni knows how good he is and sachin knows how good dhoni is. so that question does not arise there.
it is for blind sachin fanatics who dont understand value of dhoni and other indian players that this comparison needs to be done. these blind fanatics just go on and on and on about sachin and his achivements and think that it is only because of him that indian cricket team wins. they give 100% credit to sachin and 0% credit to other 10 players for india win. in india defeat it is exactly the opposite. sachin gets 0% credit (or rather blame) for the defeat and the other 10 players get 100% credit (or rather blame) for the defeat. they need to be told the truth. those people whose eyes and ears and brain are in working conditions will understand the truth that we write others will not understand. or some of them will run away from the truth even if they realise that what they always believed was wrong. they will die without ever knowing/accepting the truth.
explorer, what you and me and others like us write was never intended for the eyes and ears of sachin and dhoni. we write not for them but for their fans, biased or unbiased, fanatic or not fanatic...

Mind you nobody gave credit to Sachin for that innings. But he certainly should be credited for those 120, 112, 52 against a good pace attack and a struggling 85 against Pak. Sachin never got the credit for his 18, its just that the players said this WC is for him.

Only instance of side winning 60-over, 20-over and 50-over World Cups in international cricket. This unique achievement was completed by India with 60-over triumph in the Prudential World Cup in England in 1983, 20-over victory in the World T20I in South Africa in 2007 and now 50-over win in the ICC World Cup in India.

Hritik :). We have Rajkapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor who all had success at their zones. In South, all successors to Superstars also succeeded. Jr.NTR, Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun are enjoying the success. In cricket we had Sanjay Manjrejar, Mohinder Amarnath, Yuvraj Singh had their share of career.

What did Dhoni do at league level? What did he do in quarter final and in semi final matches? Sachin made a greater contribution to the team before it reached the final. Sachin was not responsible for the tied match against England? He was not responsible for the foolish defeat we suffered against the South Africans. He hit centuries, but the others let down the team. A player cannot be expected to hit centuries in all matches. In the final Sachin made clear his intentions. He made a quickfire 18 off only 14 balls. He was out to a very very good ball bowled at him by Malinga. There is no doubt that Sachin is the best ever batsman in one-day internationals. Ask Dhoni to open the innings and hit 10,000 runs in fewer matches than Tendulkar. For a long time, India had to rely only on Tendulkar to win matches. How much pressure he had! Does Dhoni have such pressures. Today India is gifted with good batsmen and good bowlers. Then where is the pressure for Dhoni? If he captains a team like the one sent to Australia in 1999, we will come to know how 'good' he is. Dhoni can never be compared with Tendulkar who is the greatest one-day player. Ravi
