Cappell the destroyer of Indian Cricket
by satya ranjan on Apr 07, 2011 04:50 PM  | Hide replies

This is a fuss to say that Chappel has contributed for Indian victory. He spoiled Irfan Pathan. Insulted players like Sourav, Dravid and Sachin. After getting an idea of the loop holes in the Indian cricket team he became the coach of Australian cricket team for some time. It was all his plan to help Australian cricket team and to be a coach of Indian team was a part of plan of Australians dirty mind game.
No credit to Chappel. He doomed Indian Cricket.

You are right he indeed spoiled the careers of players like Irfan Pathan...he constantly endeavoured to make him a pinch hitter instead of getting him to concentrate on his bowling, which ultimately resulted in his fall!

Sachin, Sehwag, Yuvraj, Dhoni, Harbhajan, Zaheer & Munaf are the players who very much played in the league match which india lost to srilanka in 2007. The same players are also part of world cup winning final with the same sri lanka. If 7 players who could succeed in this final, why didnt they suceed then? Surely answer is due to Greg's demoralising tactics.

There is small difference that 2007 was not played in the Indian pitches.

The same team as 2011 (except Sachin) played the 20-20 worldcup in WestIndies in 2010 and got knocked out pretty easily.

I agree that Greg played an important part in India's success
by Saravanan Subramanian on Apr 07, 2011 04:46 PM

It may looks like Bayliss tried to defend his countrymen. But certainly, Greg has played an important part in India's success.
Had there been no nuclear attack on Japan, Japan wouldn't have raised to world economic power. Had Greg not demolished the morale of the Indian team and brought it to the low even the team witnessed, India would not have raised its standard.

Chappell is hard core patriot.
by VipertheSniper on Apr 07, 2011 04:32 PM

Chappell is hard core patriot, he came to delay or perhaps destroy the emergent threat to then world no 1 team. Though not a clean professional. What I like about him is his love for Australian Cricket and want it to be on the top slot.

England played a major role in India's independence
by lee on Apr 07, 2011 04:30 PM  | Hide replies

If Greg Chappel played an important role in Indians Cricket success, then we can say that England 350 years ago also played a major role in Indians fight for independence. Chappel spoiled the entire team and brought them to the lowest level in cricket from where the team started taking new initiatives. He is the worse history in Indian's cricket.

Ganguly was unlucky to have Greg Chappel
by ARUNAVA MUKHERJI on Apr 07, 2011 04:28 PM  | Hide replies

Ganguly was unlucky to have Greg Chappel during his time in Indian cricket. It was Ganguly's tenacity to withstand Gregs mess that has kept the Indian cricket alive and flourish.

Ganguly recommended Chapell and team India flourished after Ganguly's (forced) retirement in onedayers and test cricket. you should be given a kick for your stupidity as Ganguly got one for his playing politics.
