Tell him to call Manmohan for a Cricket match and if he wins you will see a support which never he would have imagined

MRF pace academy - an australian conspiracy
by Oye Kake on Apr 06, 2011 08:34 PM  | Hide replies

Dennis Lilli an Australian works in MRF pace academy; When a bowler comes out he balls at the speed of 145 kmph or more; but then he is send to Pace academy and there he is said to curtail the speed; Munaf, Ishant are the example of this;
This is a conspiracy by aussie not to allow the Indian pace to come out.

All great bowlers are fastest mdium pacers.
Like Kapil Dev, Glenn Mcgrath, Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Dennis Lilli etc.

Nothing can be farther from truth.
To be effective as a seamer, one has to bowl over a certain speed. Accuracy and swing lose all meaning below that critical speed.
And someone in India has been trying to sell the idea that trying to bowl fast is a crime, and therefore our seamers bowl slower and slower.
Kapil Dev lost his edge after his 62nd Test Match: He had 247 wickets at the end of his 62nd Test, and managed 187 wickets in next 69 tests; and most of them were tail-enders after he started bowling below the critical speed. Imran Khan was at his best, when he was en express bowler. Lille reduced his speed in the latter part of his career, but he was never bowling at 116kph like our seamers.

Agreed; Akram had something other than pace which saved him; He was having a mastery of reverse swing; which he would have not succeded these days as the ball changes in 34th over; yes test matches still have worked

we should borrow some from SA.
by RKN on Apr 06, 2011 08:29 PM  | Hide replies

pace bowling is always concern in India, so far India India never had good fast bowler except Srinadh who can bowl minimum 135Kmph. It is time BCCI should buy some from SA or Aus or somewhere else.

Sreesanth bowled 140 consistently in the WC finals. He needs suppport, grooming, and confidence. He hits the deck with seam, and can be a good option

ye he practiced well in the final; only thing he forgot that someone opposition is having the bat;
Throw that fool out of Cricket; already 52 matches over(long time) and still the economy is 6.02 (not able to bring down);

I would pitty Sreesanth thing is he not getting the support as others would though there are reasons to blame himself for. I suppose he seems to be unwanted within the team due to his arrogance, am afraid if are loosing a nice talent in him.

I think Irfan Pathan is the best left hand Bowler i have seen aft
by Kumar on Apr 06, 2011 08:27 PM  | Hide replies

I think Irfan Pathan is the best left hand Bowler i have seen after Wasim Akram. He only lost his touch and confidence on himself if he comes in form again then he could be better then Zahear Khan.
Irfan Pathan Hat trick against Pakistan in the the First Over Salman Butt,Younus Khan and Mohammad Yusuf. Irfan Pathan is the first bowler to do so in the Test cricket history.

Our selectors should definitely give Irfan a chance if he manages to bowl even a little bit faster than Harbhajan. (However, I doubt he could).

If Pathan is the best left arm bowler you have seen after Akram, Wasim Akram should consider himself lucky, for your magnanimity.
And you need to get your eyes checked.

No doubt about it. He is much better than Sreesanth and Nehra. He should be inducted before it is too late

Why do we have to always compare? With Indian cricket industry so big and with all the year round matches, be it Test, ODI, 20-20, IPL we can soak 10 plus fast bowlers..provided we get them :-) To my knowledge Irfan was great talent on the verge of extinction..due to is confidence and injuries..He was very good swing bowler not fast..we need proper mix..but to get real raw fast bowler like Lee, Shoaib and Dale..we need to find the talent and allow them to bowl very fast irrespective of the line...since we cannot have all ..and also histornically we never had any genuine fast bowler..all of them be it srinath or ishan started on promising note and went back from 140 kmph to 130 to 120 kmph to work on their length and line...

You are right. Pathan is able to terrorise batsmen with his terrific speed of 105kph.

Agree..But unless the regional quota system of players selection is stopped we will not get good fast bowlers..If 5 fast bowlers are coming from Jharkhand, do not take 1 and discard 4 to satisfy the quota for say Gujrat or West or South, same way if we have 5 fast bowlers from Telangana, take all of them...Support real talent is what I am saying..and let them bowl fast and furious do not start working on the length and line and reducing their speed...there has to be give and take..you have enough 120kmph bowlers to bowl length and line..Depends how captain and coach handles or shapes these young talents...BCCI need to have just fast bower academy, challenge the youth of the country to bowl 150 kmph and promise to change their life..lets see if that will work or not.

You are absolutely right. We need more of your logic in India. This reservation mentality is everywhere. If India wins, why should I care if the team doesnt have someone of my state, religion, caste, district, panchayat!

Dhoni the Captain !!!
by Bihar Badshah on Apr 06, 2011 07:49 PM

We always mix Captianship with batting average's..A good batsman cannot be always a very successful captain, if that was the case Don Bradman, Lara and Sachin should have been all time best captains..Everyone has their role to play and cricket is a team game...In a team we need a legend like Shewag, a god like Sachin and to put the best use of all these god gifted talent we need a cool and calm captain..Why is that not clear..

Please Check details he was given grant from government on custom duty for that car. And why bring castism in cricket. People like you are only anti national elements who give wrong information and pin up people on caste basis.
